Sleeping Beauty & The Spinning Wheel
Posted in Grandchildren

And she pricked her finger and waiting for True Love's kiss, she fell into a deep sleep!
A month ago my son-in-law Sam and I were driving through the mountains after having dropped off the grandkids for camp. It is a five hour drive and I went as company. We don't get a lot of time to just talk and visit because activity is usually going on all around us when we are together. So this drive was a real treat for both of us. If we drove directly home it would have been five hours, by way of Nevada, it was seven hours! Sometime during our adventure the conversation turned to fulfilling dreams. He asked me if I thought he was stifling Heather's dreams. So people marry and set their dreams aside for new dreams, some people make others forget their dreams altogether dashing them to pieces as unrealistic; others embrace their loved ones completely and seek ways to enhance their dreams turning them into realities. Sam is the sort that seeks to fulfill my daughter’s dreams. He has always looked for ways to make Heather's dreams come true. He watched their (at the time) five small children, six years and under, while she took art classes at the Denver Botanical Gardens. He loves her talents. So when he did what he did today, we were not surprised. Heather is currently taking a Master Knitters course, and on a whim she and a friend are taking spinning classes. While window shopping (something neither of them are good at because they BUY stuff!) he walked into an antique store and came out with this! Now, I don't know if she will ever master this. She probably will because she masters most everything. But Samuel sees Heather's heart better than anyone could. And if the only use this spinning wheel ever gets is Zemeira playing Sleeping Beauty, than Praise the Lord! It is so worth it!

Thank you for your compliments on my cross-stitch! I love to do crafts and I seem to do better making them for others because if I don't have a deadline that I have to meet I never get it done, which would be why I have so many unfinished projects around my house! =)
I hope you are having a great week! =)

I think you should do a "places visited" map, too! They do have world maps you can make, also! It sounds like you had many more assignments than we had. For a military family, we didn't have to travel too much. Can you believe that we were only stationed at three different bases in all our married years?!
I saw your comment to Leah at Friends4Tea, and thought it was so cute! I agree that she deserves to keep her own little teapot!

We were blessed as well in our Miitary career. There are not many who can say they never had a short tour in 20 years. We started in South Dakota spent three years there, spent a few months in Germany , three glorious years in Italy (That is where I gave my heart to Jesus), six years at the Pentagon, Four years in New Hampshire (closed down Pease AFB thanks to Pres. Clinton), spent two years in Homestead Florida,(We were relocated by Hurricane Andrew), spent a few months catching our breath in Okalahoma and retired from Peterson AFB in Colorado. And now after many years in many other places, we are back home in Northern Ca! The only assignment I wanted that was cancelled was our assignment to Greece ( The gulf war changed that to Homestead).
The states I haven't been in are Wisconsin, Tennessee, Hawaii, and Alaska. Since I was born in Canada, my parents drove us back and forth from Calif. often.
