Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks the door will be opened. Matt.7:7,8
It begins with the asking. "Mom, do you want to go with us to the mall? We need to find a dress for Bella to wear to the wedding."
Of course I say yes, first, I love going to the mall and secondly, I can't imagine Heather Lee taking six kids to the mall without me to try on dresses.
Asking is easy for me. I figure there are two answers yes and no. Very seldom do I deal with Maybe because my husband and I cannot agree on the meaning of that word. To me, Maybe means if I complete what has to be done
and there is time we will do it. To Mike it means he doesn't want to hurt my feelings by saying no so he will put off saying it as long as possible. Thus, maybe is usually not an option.
Asking is easy for my daughter when it comes to me, she knows I love our time together. Off we go to the mall, it is about an hour drive.
The seeking will not be as simple as the asking. We want a size 5 dressy dress for a wedding.
She doesn't get to be in the wedding.
Her older sisters are and her brothers are in it as well. She gets to sit in the front pew and be family of the groom though because Chris loves her.
That is an important job for Bella since Chris only has his mom and dad on his side and the Bride has a large family.
We start at
Penney's because Penney's always has dressy dresses. We find one for Baby Talia
on sale for eight dollars. We find a 150.00 suit for Heather Lee for 30.00 and matching 60.00 shoes for 15.00.
But there are no size five dresses for Bella. Not at Penney's, Target, Wal-mart or K-mart. At Sears the salesman informs Heather lee she should have bought the dress at Easter!
Frustrated we go to the grocery store and buy lunch ( smarted than Mc Donalds) and head off to Tuesday Morning to find a wedding present to go with the gift they are planning.
Since we know we have material at home and since my sewing machine is still on the dining room table from the girls dresses, we decide to go into Joann's and buy Bella a matching pattern. After all it is Two whole days until the wedding!
I woke up a 6:00am this morning, and this afternoon when the Grandkids come over for our regular Thursday night movie night, and Bella knocks on the door
she will have a new dress to try on! Yes! Today I feel like Super Bubbe!
