The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, Because He has annointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners... Isaiah 61:1
This is the first memory verse from mynew Bible Study. I thought if I typed it out here it would help me memorize it. Who knows, it just might work.
What I do know, is that sometimes I go to Bible Studies to learn one thing, only to discover something totally different. Other times I go to Bible Studies to solidify my beliefs and encourage others. And every once in a while I go to Bible Studies so the Holy Spirit can kick me in the rear! This is one of those studies! I have only done Day 1 and part of Day 2 of the first week and can feel it! And it feels surprisingly good and surprisingly familiar.
I love in-depth studies, searching out the roots of the word, leafing thourgh my Strong's Concordnance and looking things up in my Vine's dictionary. When I read the words In-depth study, that is what I was invisioning. I was not invisioning roto-rooters, and roto-tilers for my heart. Obviously it was time for to rotate the fields, bust up the fallow ground that I had over planted thru the years, remove the rocks that have surfaced and trust the Lord to break it all up and make it fresh and new again.
Have you ever wondered how the He Sent , He Annoints, became "I" proclaim ,"I" bind, "I" release ? You know it isn't true, but as you look over all that you do, even homeschooling can become I can do all things for Christ instead of through Christ. Pride takes center stage more easily than we like to admit. And every once in a while we need a kick in the butt. I think this study is becoming mine. Thank You Jesus!
