I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
"Are you dead?" The Lord asks.
"Yes Lord, I have been crucified with you. You are alive in me, I am dead," I respond.
"Lord, she has hurt my feelings so badly, what do I do?" I ask.
"You are dead my child, remember my word," I hear my Savior say.
"Yes Lord, you are right, I am dead. This is in your hands," I release my hold.
"Lord, he lied to me," I say.
"No, he is lying to himself and to Me, you are dead." Jesus softly chides.
"This burden is too heavy for me to carry," I sigh.
"I live in you; the weight is on Me dear child. Let Me carry it. You are dead."
As Jesus lifts the burden.
Have you had these conversations with your Savior? Do you realize the freedom we have in Christ when we truly understand what it means to be crucified with Christ?
Selfishness has no place when self is dead. Oh how I long to fully understand this and to give up all the things I allow to trip me up from day to day.
And oh, the joy that awaits us when we choose to let Christ Live in us.
