This Sunday is Sanctity of Life Sunday in many churches around the country. January 22 is the National March for Life in
1) The media will saturate the airwaves with Pro-Abortion news and programs. These programs will include showing the following movies "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", "Dirty Dancing" and "Cider House Rules", to name a few. It will not include "Listen to Me" starring Kirk Cameron.
2) The News broadcast will be bias. I know this from experience. I stood in a crowd at the National Mall surrounded by thousands of Pro-life Supporters. I heard the reporter on the platform above my head say the following, "While Pro-lifers March on Capitol Hill, THOUSANDS of Pro-Choice Supporters are gathering at State capitols around the nation." When they aired this local news report, The Pro-Life signs the Marchers were holding were blurred out and the report sounded as if he were standing in the midst of Pro-Abortion groups. This is typical. You can count on it. Truth in Broadcasting now means "Their Truth" not "The Truth"!
3)Churches for the most part will discuss the evils of abortion (which it is and should be exposed as such) but most will fail the 40% of the women in their congregations that are broken by their legacy of Abortion. 40% of the women in church will be reminded of the sin that breaks their hearts but few will hear the message of the Savior's Love and forgiveness for this sin. This sin in most churches is not only silent, but treated as the unforgivable sin not only in the hearts of the women that have had them, but in the judgments of those who have not. It is not unforgivable, nor should it be unmentionable. This portion of the flock is hurting and needs healing and compassion.
4) As Broken and bleeding as these women are, the Men that paid for, pushed for, and in some instances ordered, are never confronted and thus never brought to the Throne of Grace to be delivered from their sins. They consider this "the Woman's Problem" and thus never seek the Lord's mercy for their part in the death of their child. Oh how wounded they are!
5) Lastly, I know we can, voice by voice, hand in hand, prayer by prayer make a difference. I watched my very young children hand even the police officers on duty tracts to explain to them the horrors of Abortion and the Love of a Forgiving Savior. They were touched by the innocents and compassion of my children. I watched our church pray for the women entering local clinics and EXITING these same clinics. The woman that exits the clinic empty in body and heart needs compassion not condemnation. Changed lives make for changed laws.
So this year let this be THE YEAR We stand on these scriptures "
The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me because God anointed me. He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, Announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. 2 God sent me to announce the year of his grace - a celebration of God's destruction of our enemies - and to comfort all who mourn, 3 To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them "Oaks of Righteousness" planted by God to display his glory. 4 They'll rebuild the old ruins, raise a
