Oh fun a new tag!

Posted in Tags

friends4tea at her new site tagged me with this!  So if you’re reading - - yup!  You’re tagged now!  Let me know when you’ve done it so I can see your answers!

Aprons - Y/N?
Yes.  Ihave one, red with white polka dots retro apron and one for each of the grandchildren. Plus I make them for presents.

Baking - Favorite thing to bake: Baklava

Clothesline - Y/N?
No , but  there used to be one in our backyard because the wire cut into the tree and parts of it is still there

Donuts - Have you ever made them?
Yes, My favorite memory is smelling doughnuts cooking in my grandma's kitchen. So I make sure my grandbabies have lots of smell memories too..

Every day - One homemaking thing you do everyday:
Dishes, they never end

Freezer - Do you have a separate deep freeze?
No, we sold ours when we thought we had orders t Greece (which were canceled):

Garbage Disposal - Y/N?
NO! but I have cool screens in the sink

Handbook - What is your favorite homemaking resource?
The Disciplines of a Beautiful Woman by Ann Ortland and a little green paper back I once had (before hurricanes changed my library) called The Joy of HouseKeeping

Ironing - Love it or hate it?
My mama taught me to iron sitting down watching TV, so if I am gonna watch TV I might as well iron.

Junk drawer - Y/N? Where is it?
Yes In the kitchen

Kitchen: Design & Decorating?
When we moved in we had the ugliest and I mean ugliest wall paper from the 70's on the walls, so I tiled them with chrome and copper tiles. I am still working on it, I have two wall to paint and cabinettes to refurbish.I have Debbie Mumm tea cupboards and Debbie Mumm trays on the non-tiled walls. And Teapots

Love - What is your favorite part of homemaking?
Having a husband whom for 33 years has worked hard and enjoyed making sure I could be a homemaker. My favorite thing to say at military functions when someone would belittle the fact that I stayed home by saying"You don"t work?  was to say, "Oh , you have to?"  Next thing I knew they would be confiding in me about their longing to "Be Able" to stay home (:

Mop - Y/N?
Yes, a couple. One for my wood floors and one for the kitchen/bathroom

Nylons - Wash my hand or in the washing machine?
Isn't it a shame that husbands don't have the luxury of nylons hanging in the bathroom drying anymore?

Oven - Do you use the window or the oven to check?
Oh I use the oven I don't trust just the sight, the smell and touch matter too.

Pizza - What do you put on yours?
Pregnant? Smoked Octopus and Oysters Normally, Olives, mushrooms, Canadian bacon, Pineapple and anchovies (sausage and pepperoni for Mike)

Quiet - What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
My Bible Study and reading Blogs

Recipe card box - Y/N?
Nope, lost it in Hurricane Andrew, but I have cookbooks.

Style of house:
Mobile home

Tablecloths and napkins - Y/N?
Oh I would never use a tablecloth for a napkin. Hee hee I use paper towels! Tablecloths are for special occasions and so are napkins

Under the kitchen sink - Organized or toxic wasteland?
Toxic wasteland, my kids are grown and my cupboards are safe

Vacuum - How many times per week?
After popcorn, after chips, after the grandkids have run in and out all day dragging cedar with them, how many times a day was that?

Wash - How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
Between 3 and 4 for Mike and I, if I help DD catch up with hers, double that.My soapbox....every home should have two washers and  dryers!

Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
Not anymore

Yard - Y/N? Who does what?
Oh I love being in the yard, especially raking and gardening.

Zzz’s - What is your last homemaking task for the day before going to bed?
fixing the blankets cuz Mike doesn't share well and with my hotflashes, you never know how it will work out.

Heheee! You are too funny! I love what you had to say about nylons. I might just have to start handwashing those things now! =)
I'd love to see some of the aprons you've made if you have any pictures you can post!
Thanks for doing the tag. Too fun! =)

Dang it, I hate those tags that sneak up on you like that. :)
I'll try to do this one in a few days, after I write a couple of other entries I've got brewing.

Oh, thank you for your prayers, Bobbie! I really appreciate it. They took some biopsies so in a few weeks we should at least know something....I hope!

Hugs,

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
