I have been thinking about this quote on my refrigerator all week-end. During the conference this week-end I have heard about being in solitary confinement, being tortured such as being tied to a car a dragged around for an hour or more. The length is unsure since black outs because of the pain occur constantly. I heard about onion and bread being all they are fed for the 11 months in prison.Beatings are such a natural part of the experience they are barely mentioned. And mostly I heard of the miracles, of the joy an unlocked door brings and of dreams and visions of Jesus calling each of them , saying . "Come Search for me. Seek me and you will find me. Follow me." AND THEY DO! Middle Eastern Missionaries to America, how badly we NEED them to wake us up. So here is my quote of the day. I used to think I knew the answer, strongly and completely YES. I believe if I ever HAD to answer it the Lord Jesus would empower me to stand and boldly proclaim Jesus' Lordship. The best friend of one of these men was given 7 days to consider denouncing Jesus. If he did not, in seven days he would e killed. He was martyred that day. What answer would you give this question?
If they replaced Communion and Offering with Arrest and Torture, would you still believe?
I met three people this week that can shout a strongly tested YES to that question, because they did.
