These Days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city. And these days of Purim should never cease to be celebrated by the Jews nor should the memory of them die out among their descendants. Esther 9:28
The Bible is full of ways to teach God's Glory and His Word to our children. Hear the Word and do the Word. Purim is one such celebration where hearing and doing is combined perfectly. Children dress up in costume, Princesses parade about boys in beards and swords engage the enemy. Groggers make noise constantly, what can be more fun that giving a boy something so loud and annoying in church and not telling him to shush. Then there is the cheering and the booing and the aweing, each time a name is read from the Book of Esther. Mordecai is spoken and cheers go up Hooray! Haman is spoken and groggers sound and booing is so loud his name cannot be heard, and Esther....her name receives awes so sweetly a newborn baby has never heard so many. Imagine kids enjoying God's word, praising Him for His miracles and realizing that the enemy desires to have them, but God is victorious! This is a night for children. You know, my grandchildren have never desired Halloween, they have PURIM!
And then there is the baking. Hamantashen and poppy seed cakes galore! I baked all day with the four oldest grandchildren. Each one made the Hamentashen of their choice. Kezzi and Chai made poppy seed ones , Tirzah made Plum ones and Jaden's are red raspberry. Tirzah and Kezzi made the poppy seed cake and they were also the only two that stayed still long enough for a picture. After all it is Purim and boys just want to draw swords! But they all worked very hard!

Happy Purim to All! You were indeed born for such a time as this. You have a destiny in Jesus so go out and fulfill it!

Oh how I wish I could have been with you all. I would love your recipes for your baked goods. I missed it but I still will celebrate it with my boys. I got to do this once and I LOVED it ! What awesome memories you are making with your grandchildren. I want to be like you when I get some grandchildren. I love how you share about them and what you are doing with them. Be blessed my SSiC.

Something I have been wanting to do for a long time is celebrate these type of holidays. Out with the old (like Halloween) and in with the new!
