I have been wondering what "This" monumental entry would be about, and the Lord just dropped it right into my lap. As I had written earlier,Tirzah is loving Missions week. And the fact that two missionaries from Africa have been here this week has had her on the edge of her seat. Sunday morning she and her sister Kezzi came to church with Pa and I so they could hear the missionaries one more time. They had awesome displays set up and Tirzah and Kezzi walked around one table that had a lot of Sunday school type story posters. Posters of Jesus feed the 5000, the ascension, even Zaccheus up in a jungle tree. They had so much fun guessing the stories. They had to Guess the stories because they had all African participants. Which one is Jesus, which disciple is this.?To see the Bible Stories they are so familiar with told in images they had never imagined was such a treat.
We sat in the back row on Sunday, Aunt Valerie is a "Worshipper" in every sense of the word, so as not to distract ,this is where we sit. Tirzah sat on the edge of her seat. Watching every picture on the big screen, the people , the bugs, the crocodiles, especially the children. Kezzi loves the bugs, the spiders, the scorpions, these things she has always loves. She is our CSI girl! Touching the giant Python skin was her highlight! Well at the end of the sermon there was an altar call. I do not think the girls have ever heard a call for Missionaries. They have heard the "ask Jesus into your heart" altar calls and the "rededicate your life" calls, but I do not think they were expecting a "Call to Missions". Pa was ready for it, he is always read for everything but we were not ready for Tirzah's response.
She almost JUMPED over the back of the pew to run down front! Pa took her hand and said he would walk her down. Hee hee! I don't know what He was thinking, Because walking is not what Tirzah had in mind. Normally Pa's strides are long and we work at keeping up. Not today, today he was being PULLED down front by an 11 year old running down the aisle!
At first the staff up front addressed PA
"So you are called to Missions?" He was quick to say NOT ME! She is! You always wonder if adults will take the children seriously, like the disciples of old. But again Pa was there to make sure they did. While Tirzah was explaining her heart to the wife, Pa explained Tirzah to the Husband,
Tirzah shared how she had asked Jesus into her tummy when she was two years old. This was an important thing for a two year old to do, because many cultures unlike ours ask Jesus into their kidneys, stomachs etc. The Heart is not universal.
She explained about the dreams she has had since then of being Jesus' Bride, about serving Him (this girl ,like most 11 year old girls can talk when excited). She told them how when she heard the call her heart leaped so I guess leaping over the pew was just an extension of that. She explained about her Chanukah babies that she asked for and we had thought she was just being cutesy about, but I had to search all over K-mart in our very non-ethnic community for, praying in every aisle That I would find them when we realized this was important to her. It took 45 minutes to find them! But these little black twins dolls are really all she wanted. And when she opened the present, she cried! Later that night she sat me down and explained to me how their mama had lived in Kenya and died from Aids, She asked her to adopt these sweet babies and teach them about Jesus. She had statistics and information I didn't even know. She named the boy one Kenya so he would never forget his roots. This girl is serious!
So for my 100th entry, I am going to ask you to pray for Tirzah! Pray for her relationship with Jesus, that it would always be strong. Pray for her health, that it would not be used against her dreams! Pray that her love for the lost and hurting grow strong. And pray for her Bubbe, that checks on her walking across the church campus, that I will have peace releasing Tirzah and all the grandchildren to walk on the paths God has designed for them knowing HE will watch over them and I can Trust Him! And pray for her Mommie and Daddy it is one thing to be a Missionary (they met on the Mission field) and a whole different thing to release your babies! Surrender is a really BIG word!
Then Jesus came to them and said "All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, GO...... Matthew 28:18
