Book Tag
I was tagged by Babymakers to do this tag. I love books so it was an easy tag.
1.Hardback or trade paperback or mass market paperback?
Classics that need to be shared from Generation to generation are hardback. Paperback is for sharing because they are never returned.
2.Barnes & Nobels or Borders? Barnes and Nobles, they also have a 20% discount for teachers, including homeschool teachers
3.Bookmark or dogear? I love bookmarks but in a pinch I have been known to pinch
4.Alphabetize by author or alphabetize by title or random? I could be a smarty pants and say the dewy-decimal system, but I am ecstatic if the stack is straight and should by some miracle of grace they actually make it to a shelf…woo hoo!
5.Keep, throw away, or sell? Throw away a book that is almost sacrilege! Keep or share.
6.Keep dust jacket or toss it? I keep it until it doesn’t keep the dust away and then I toss it.
7.Short story or novel? Hmmm Both there is not an either/or here both have their place. Devotionals are short stories and I need those I my life. And blogs are short stories too!
8.Collection (short stories by same author) or anthology (short stories by different authors)? Adding the experiences of others into one book on one subject gives you good incite. But Collections are usually the best of the best and well worth the read. I love Uncle Remus And all Winnie the Pooh Classics
9.Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket? Since Harry Potter is a handbook for Wicca and Lemony Snicket would be classified a pedophile by today’s standards…neither
10.Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks. I have been know to be reading to my children stop mid-sentence sleep 15 minutes and pick up exactly where I dosed off. Then I got my thyroid regulated!
11."It was a dark and stormy night..." or "Once upon a time..." In our home it came out like this …One
12.Buy or borrow? Borrow more often than buy. Actually I have a daughter that usually says “Mom you HAVE to read this!”
13New or used? I love library sales and we have a fabulous used book store in town. Since I live in a predominately retirement community, Christian books are still in great supply.
14Buying choice: book reviews, recommendation or browse? Recommendation…like I said “MOM you NEED this book!”
15Tidy ending or cliffhanger? Do you remember choose your own ending books??? I like alternative endings. Cliffhangers leave you hanging and tidy endings sometimes unravel
16Morning reading, afternoon reading or nighttime reading? Mornings are for my Bible Study and afternoons are filed with family so if I can it is usually evening. But I have been known to begin a book and not put it down til I have completed it.
17.Stand-alone or series?Oh I love series! Love Comes Softly, Left Behind, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, CS Lewis Space Trilogy, Redwall, House of Winslow, Anne of Green Gables
18. Favorite series? All of the Above
19. Favorite children's book? Little Black Sambo… ok I know it is not P.C but Litle Black Sambo was not African he was Indian from
20. Favorite book of which nobody else has heard? Dancing in the Arms of God by Connie Neal
21. Favorite book(s) read last year? The Atonement Child by Francine Rivers…one of those MOM you have to read this books…she was right!
22. Favorite books of all time? Hind’s Feet on High Places, And the Angels were Silent, Pilgrims Progress, Leota’s Garden
23. Least favorite book you finished last year? Ok I loved this book, The atonement child by Francine Rivers (I love all she writes) but….it was a very heart wrenching read. I needed to read it and I already sent it to its next victim. So it was my best least favorite read.
24. What are you reading right now? Believing God by Beth Moore
25. What are you reading next? I am sure Heather will tell me…..
This tag is for all of you, if you want to play, just let me know and I will come and see what you've said. I like tags, but I know they are not everybodies cup of tea.
