I love cooking with my grandchildren
Posted in Grandchildren
Tirzah and Kezziah are becoming quite proficient in the kitchen these days. I could never have completed the tasks at hand with out their hands! Together we made 400 Matzah Balls for the Matzah ball soup. We cooked 100 chicken breasts and chopped a 1/2 bushel apples and 4 pounds of walnuts for Charoset! We discovered the Magic Bullet we borrowed to help with the chopping made Walnut butter and applesauce (neither desirable outcomes so we went back to hand chopping. Our apple/peeler corer, a Chanukah present for this very thing performed beautifully and even Malachai came in to assist with the Charoset making. Coring apples is very fun!
So did we make enough? Just barely! 127 people attended the Seder! This is an amazing turn out since we live is a very small ethnically challenged community! Sam and Heatherly were so very excited! Even Sam's Agnostic Boss attended! Only God!!!!!
And then there is the moment that the "Servant's Heart" you pray is cultivated in your children and grandchildren materializes! They were so excited making the food, but nothing compares to giving them a pitcher of water or a pot of coffee and sending them from table to table to wait on people. They only time I saw them smile wider was when they brought the water basins around for the hand washing ceremony in the Seder! Like Jesus washing his disciples they came out with such joy in the task. Ah my Bubbe's heart doth overflow!
Chag Sameach!

I love to cook and teach others to cook. It's exciting to see young people learning these skills!
Thanks so much for coming by. I haven't been by much...I have been dealing with the same cold & cough that my children have had. I have had so much sinus pressure lately that my face hurts! But it is just upon waking, not during the day.
I had written my testimony on my other blog a while back, I realized I hadn't posted it over here so I figured it was about time. Then yesterday I was so moved by my midwife's story...I just had to write about it. Again, thanks!
Blessings!
Heather

Bobbie, you are making me cry!
My heart is just overflowing with the picture you have painted of your grandchildren and of the wonderful seder you all were able to do for the church.
Oh, the heartstrings that were tied between all of you during the time of preparation and service. What a blessing for all!
