Tag Me Tuesdays
Posted in Tags
Since School is just about finished and blogging moms have more time on their hands, it seems it is time to run in the sun and play tag. I have two or three tags waiting so I thought I would list them on Tuesdays and not surprise anyone. So here we go...
I was tagged by Confessions from a Rubber Room. She told me this one would be easy…. The thought of narrowing down my favorites to Seven seems an impossibility to me. Maybe seven genres, but seven Movies , Seven books…this will take some thinking. Maybe I can do my favorite Seven THIS WEEK (:????
7 of my favorite books: Leota’s Garden by Francine Rivers, If you have ever had generational dysfunction and family secrets this book is for you, The Atonement Child by Francine Rivers, I wrote a post on how my daughter finally got me to read this, what an awesome book; And the Angels were Silent by Max Lucado This should be read every Easter Week; Hind’s Feet on High Places and Mountains of Spices by Hannah Hurnard are for when you are facing ANY trial. I read them about every three years; Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan is a book every Christian should experience; With Christ in the School of Prayer by Andrew Murray classical teaching at its best; This Present Darknes and Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti the best read alouds ever. Living Water by Chuck Smith the best book on the gifts of the Holy Spirit I have ever read. Okay that isn’t seven books, but seven authors and if you read just about anything by these authors you will be blessed.I just couldn't do it!
7 of my favorite movies: I love Musicals, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers this is the one all of the grandchildren love; The King and I with Yul Brenner, NOT the cartoon which took the Christian element out and put dragons in; The Music Man with Ron Howard as a little boy NOT the one with Matthew Brodrick; Westside Story with Natalie Wood So beautiful and heart breaking; Meet me in St Louis with Judy Garland is a holiday favorite, Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly and and Guys and Dolls with Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. Ok that is seven but just the tip of musicals, I didn’t have Sound of Music nor Funny Face nor Easter Parade nor An American in Paris nor Jumbo actually all you have to do is ask for an MGM Musical.
Now, for love Stories??? Sci-fi??? Drama??? Comedy??? Christian??? Military Classics??? Animated??? Seven Movies indeed!
7 of my favorite foods:Ice Cream any kind any flavor, perfectly barbequed steaks and ribs, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Potato salad, pickles, DARK chocolate and homemade right out of the oven bread.
7 of my favorite drinks: tea, cranberry juice, gingerale, V-8 juice, Chocolate milk, Black Cat Wine(ok it has along German name that I forget) , and a virgin Margarita
I want to add a couple sevens:
7 of my favorite Bible Studies: Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs; Really Bad Girls of the Bible also by Liz Curis Higgs; Becoming a Vessel God Can Use by Donna Pratow; Her Name is Woman Book 1 & 2 by Gien Karrsen; Becoming a Woman of ... series by Cynthia Heald, Breaking Free by Beth Moore and Forgiven and Set Free by Linda Cochrane.
7 of my Favorite Devotionals: At the Name of Jesus by Sarah Hornsby; Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon; Each New Day by Corrie ten Boom; Hind's Feet on High Places Devotional (YES they make one!); Love is....by Sarah Hornsby Experiencing God Day by Day by Henry and Richard Blackaby; Encouragement Along the Way, a devotional for Homeschooling Parents by Bobbie Howard
People I'm going to tag: Sorry ladies. I know you have all been tagged a gazillion times…Thus the title Tag Me Tuesdays!!!!! Clanclave, bnbandy, Reviews by Heidi, pumpkinsmomma, Timbuck2mom,Halffamilyof8,SoCalVal, myboysand1ladysbug

I've read some of those books. Though I'm not into musicals, so I've never seen them. I like to read these tags, though it's hard to come up with things. I've been tagged again from another blog. I'll have to think a bit about it. :)

Love to see your tag answers...keep them coming, it's a great way to get to know other bloggers...i random blog often and rarely see others who answer the tags so it always puts a smile on my face when I see you have done another one!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I had the same exact thought when I read bringing holiness to someone else ~
You don't have to worry about the tag... My daughter and I started blogging at the same time. Because she was afraid everyone would think what she was doing was boring, she loved being tagged. It allowed her to blog without the stress of thinking what she was going to say. She didn't have a lot of friends on her friends list at the time... so she tagged me. Sometimes twice a day. I couldn't figure out how to tell my daughter that she couldn't tag me but anyone else could.
I have actually thought about adding a Meme Monday... and doing a tag that is floating around the Internet just for fun. Usually on Mondays, I just post photos of Marissa. (She pointed out one day that I always post photos of David and Beverly... and she was right!)
So... look for your tag on Monday next! :o)

I just read your comment from a couple of days ago...I saw the part about the tea, but didn't realize there was more until just now. You're always encouraging me and wish I could return the blessing. Maybe someday we'll get to have high tea together. :)
p.s.--my son not only says he would choose to be a dog also...I actually think he is part dog.

Black cat iis because of the Label. I think it is a Reisling.
Here is a link with a picture of the label on it. I think we discovered it while in Frankfurt but I couldn't drink it til we moved to Italy. I was preganant all of Germany!

I also LOVE corn beef and cabbage but rarely have it. My husband is not a big "meat and potato" guy. So, that dish along with roast is out the window. I tried serving it to him once and the stringy meat just didn't agree with his tastebuds. BOOO HOOO
Oh well. He would not eat rice, wheat bread, refried beans or chinese when we were first married either. Most of those he loves now. Maybe someday I will find a way to sneak in the corn beef.... here's hoping.
I just wanted to thank you for the long comment you left about my tag. It was very encouraging.
The pastor at the church we go to now is a really, really good guy. He studies the Word, takes care of his flock, has excellent standards and on and on... It is just some of the basic doctrine we don't know about. The reason we are still there is because he is the only pastor I know of with standards, that is a good teacher/leader and DOESN'T LOOK DOWN ON US for our beliefs. That is really hard to find. Our last pastor gave us a really hard time because we couldn't do everything he wanted.

Bobbie,
How fascinating that your sister was involved with Bro. Andrew's work. We have his story on cassette and my kids LOVE listening to it. As a matter-of-fact they were listening to it a couple of days ago.
I would love to hear some stories about her if you ever have a chance to post or email me.
I think Bro. Andrew is still alive and living in (California?).
BTW, probably the only reason I'm so fond of Pollyanna is because my little girl likes to watch it so I get to hear it when I'm on the computer. It's sweet and has some funny parts. :)
