My Daughter tagged me...and it isn't Tuesday

Posted in Tags

This is going to become my favorite tag. I read my daughter's blog last night and was so blessed by her answers that I had to write her and say "Interview me" . I want to do this tag. One of her questions is time sensitive and goes with me pictures for Show and tell. Since this is Friday, if you want me to Interview you, tell me NOW and I will interview you so you can post your answers on Tag me Tuesday . This is an Interview so the questions change from person to person.

DIRECTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEW MEME

1. Leave a comment saying, "Interview me."

2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. Beware, I'm not shy of asking personal questions! Please make sure I have your email address.

3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

What is your favorite thing to do when spending time with the boys? My favorite thing is watching them interact with one another. My favorite thing to do WITH them is cuddle and sword fight, because we cuddle while watching any of the six (seven if you count the Ewoks) movies, which ALWAYS leads to sword fighting.

Of all the tea parties you have had which is your most favorite? That is like asking me to pick a favorite movie! Your wedding tea and finding all the dishes for it, going from thrift shop to thrift shop and actually finding sets is a favorite moment with you. Going all over Maryland doing the house teas and devotions I loved; even when we had to pull off in the dark in the middle of nowhere to nurse a very hungry boy. There is nothing like an impromptu teaparty with my grandchildren. I love the manners and how Zemeira after watching Felicity would politely say, “I will take no tea.” And flip over her cup. Only to quickly right it again and say “I really love tea!” I love that the boys participate too. I also loved high tea in Bethlehem, the only thing missing was you.

it is often said "A woman is like a teabag. You don't know her strength until she is in hot water." when have you seen an example of this? When my little 9 year old girl came home crying from school almost every day because all she wanted to do was read her Bible at recess and they took it away, when her assignment is taken from her and given a failing grade because she wrote about The Resurrection and they said she didn’t write it.Even though the instructions were to write about something that you knew to be true, and it had to happen to you or someone You knew. When the principal told Matty he was stupid at seven years old, because his teacher had a head cold and he had a question …I jumped right into the boiling pot, and brought you guys Home! It wasn’t easy homeschooling with the drapes drawn, and lying about being transferred to get your transcripts. But I would do it all again. You both were so worth it!

what made you go from being afraid to turn off a nintendo to being a blogger? YOU! Your dad is amazing when it comes to these mechanical life forces and you take after him. You know how much I love writing and needed me to begin again. I still can not turn on the Nintendo!

yesterday, you were at the silver dollar fair, where daddy asked you to marry him 34 years ago. did you have any idea how wonderful he was back then or did he become so great because he had an awesome wife? Both! This should be the hardest question you asked me, but it is the easiest. Your dad was like no other boy I ever met. Kind, considerate, a bit shy, not just interested in getting me in bed with him; there was a sparkle in his eyes that pierced my heart. It was love at first site! Like most Magalia teens, he was also broken and needed someone to believe in him. That is where I came in. So many women berate their men and it shows. They don't believe in him so he doesn't believe in himself.  Believing in him as he joined the Air Force during Viet Nam and not being sent there so he could go to high school during the day while marching around missiles at night made me tell him he is amazing. He did it all because he wanted to be eligible to re-enlist always looking toward the future, even as you crawled over his brightly polished boots! He needed more than a GED and the degrees soon followed. I said, “Whatever you need to do for us, do it! And he did it while I cheered! But Jesus did the best to both of us. Once Jesus came into his heart everything was brand new. And the closer we came to Jesus the closer we came to each other. He is still amazing me and I am still telling him so.

I just wanted to pop in and thank you so, so much for all of your kind comments on my blog! I feel almost as if God's sent me an extra mom. ;-) You're very kind. I so wish I had more time to read so I could read your blog more often, but I'm having trouble finding time to write my own! Looking forward to getting to know you better over the summer where there's more time to be found. I really appreciated all your info about your daughter's missions trips, too! Again thanks, and I pray you have a blessed weekend.
Love, Misty

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
