Important things I learned about Joshua Stones
Posted in Grandchildren
I was asked a couple questions in the comments and thought I would share a little more. For those of you who have older children, I want you to know I began this with my grandchildren not my children. I didn't know about it with my children. I started with our important mile stones, marraiage, salvation experiences and births. Other memories may appear out of order but as I recall them I include them. So start anytime.
Secondly, the grandchildren love them, they love the stories and they love the colors and textures. They love knowing which one is their's! But the smallest one (which ever one that is at the time) likes to put them in his/her mouth. So the have to pass the do not choke test. If they fit throw a toilet paper tube they are too small.
Lastly, make sure you have a white Gel pen for the darker rocks. You want their numbers to show up. Dark stones are needed for things like Hurricanes! and Tornados.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
PS I usually buy a Bag of Rocks at Michael's. I pay close attention to the sizes of the rocks and the rocks that are too small I put in the flower vase . (Notice the flower vase in the picture has lots of Rocks!) I have used Garden rocks from special places. And I have one that was a gift from my Daughter that says "Remember" in honor of my Great- Grandmother and Great-Aunt that were in Concentration Camps. So rocks can come from anywhere. OR you can get a rock tumbler and really make it a Family Project!

Hi Bobbie. The Joshua stones seem to be a hit! About linking to my blog - of course you can. It is not gossip-like, in my opinion. To answer your other question:the color of my washer is white. For some reason all of my appliances are white. I guess I like how they look so clean. Have a super weekend.

I love, love, love this idea! I think I am going to get a basket, and a few stones to start out my basket- ones that represent our marriage, our children that have been born, and the salvation of two of my children. This is such a neat idea. I have never heard of it before I read it on your blog. neat!

I loved your pictures and your narrative about the Joshua stones. Indeed, pictures are worth 1,000 words. Where do you find the rocks? Are they just the garden (literally) variety? The rocks in our garden are ugly, and the grandkids earn $1/bucket to pick them up.
Oh, BTW, interesting comment about Andrea Carter. Was she a nice person? Hope so! Names are so important when you're creating characters for stories!
