American Family Assoc Action Alert
Are you aware that your freedom of speech and religion is under attack?
H.R. 1592 is ultimately a Thought Crimes law which aims to silence biblical Judeo-Christian speech and beliefs about homosexuality and “transgenderism.”
The proposed law would make it a crime to preach on Romans Chapter 1 or I Corinthians Chapter 6. Or even to discuss them in a Sunday School class. If churches and individuals want to keep the government from telling them what they can and cannot preach and teach about homosexuality, they better get involved now!
House bill H.R. 1592 and Senate bill S. 1105 would make negative statements concerning homosexuality, such as calling the practice of homosexuality a sin from the pulpit, a “hate crime” punishable by law. This dangerous legislation would take away your freedom of speech and your freedom of religion.
Here is a list of Co-sponsors of House Bill H.R 1592 first see where your Congressman stands and write them. http://www3.capwiz.com/afanet/issues/bills/?bill=9668611&size=full
Here is a list of Co-sponsors for Senate Bill S.1105 again if your Senator is here WRITE THEM.
http://www3.capwiz.com/afanet/issues/bills/?bill=9642666&cs_party=all&cs_status=C&cs_state=ALL
If you don't know who to write go here http://www3.capwiz.com/afanet/dbq/officials/
And please consider signing AFA's petition http://www.afa.net/
But most importantly write your elected officials. And the petition link at AFA also as an International Link for my International blog buddies (that means you Mary and Tracy )
Nothing is worse than doing nothing.
Bills are written to always look ambiguious. This Bill does attack our Bill of Rights.

I signed the petition. I saw it earlier today and couldn't believe it! I thought it was one of those made up things but the AFA is reliable, I still can't believe it!

I was so angered by seeing the amount of ground this agenda has been able to gain so quickly, largely by piggybacking off of the same legislation that gave civil rights to racial minorities. I stand with a large number who say that we (as African-Americans) are sick of being pulled into this agenda! Also, the numbers of non-gay people who are supporting/ empathisizing with legislation of this type are scary. I truly fear for America.
In addition to writing the Congressmen, as you have so wisely stated, the most important thing to do is to pray and take authority over the enemy, for even a Congressman is only a flesh-and-blood person, subject to the will and whim of what will keep him/her in office. Besides, the Word tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood,...
Thanks for putting the word out, Bobbie. Active and intelligent citizenship, right? God bless you today.

This burns me up. They want homosexuals protected... well, what about us heterosexuals subjected to crude, lewd, and disgusting remarks from homosexuals? Why does the bill not go both ways? I'm so angered that what someone does in their own bedroom (totally NOT condoning this behavior as it's sick) will want to wear it on their sleeve and have it protected by law. I've seen lesbians protect this law by telling me "Well, you wear yours on your left hand with a gold band." Um, THAT totally does NOT make sense! Oh don't get me started (taking a deep breath). I've written everyone I can (gotta love being military and having the status to write lots of politicians! hehe) And you want to know what's worse? The military and other *real* groups that get discriminated against were rebuked by a certain political group. Ugg... I'll shut up now. Thanks for the info BB!!!
