My trip began with the part I asked you to pray about, sweet sisters. We went to my little sister's home for the day. Since she had company coming the next day we could only stay one day and not overnight. It was such a fantastic day for all of us. I promise to add Photos to this when I get them downloaded. But if you would like to see my little sister's pool you can see it here http://www.webberpool.com/gallery01.php The header and all the photos below are my little sister's pool. I love the retaining wall design which is exclusive to webber pool. Toddlers cannot accidently fall in. However it is always important for children to be watched while in the pool, their friends lost a five year old in the pool during a party.
I loved the slide, and I have never been on a water slide, so guess what I did over and over again!
We all got along so nicely. We had dinner brought in from a local Mexican rest. and I met my sister's step son. It was so fun to be introduced to him as Bobbie and get to say, "Oh no, I am your Aunt Bobbie!" I have longed to say that to someone in Heidi's Family. When we left, we should have brought my mom with us, but Heidi said she would bring her in the morning and it was very late when we left. This would cause problems the next day, but it was still a good day too. It was about 10:30 at night when we hit the 405 and bumper to bumper traffic, oh my gosh, it was at a complete standstill! It was so easy to remember why we do not live down south any more! So the route we took home went right by my mom's anyway!
My little sister did not bring her home, but sent mom home in a shuttle. It cost 190.00! All she had to do was call and say I can't get her home and we would have picked her up. Instead we wind up in rush hour traffic try to get to mom's at the agreed time. It took 27 minutes to drive 3 1/2 miles! When we arrived, mom was NOT there yet. So we spent an hour or more at her friends house. Now, my mom's friend is old country french. First she offered us some wine which even though I said water was good, became sparking cider. As we waited, she served a fruit platter, with everything on it blueberries, Cherries melons, mangos, peaches etc.... As we waited some more, out came the crackers, cheeses, katmala olives and smoked oysters (did I mention they live on fixed incomes in retirement homes?) Then mom arrived! Her girlfriend Alice came up for a short visit and we watched Love's unending Legacy on Hallmark! What a great family movie to watch together.
We spent the night there and went to breakfast in the morning at the end of Huntington beach pier. How lovely it was to look out over the ocean and smell the sea air. I do miss that part of my childhood. Oh, and we saw a seal! I was looking for dolphins, but found a seal! Mom is always disappointed with the length of time we see each other, but I had an appointment with the Lord I just had to keep.
Between my sister's and my mom's was my Bible teachers workshop. http://bibleteachers.blogspot.com/
I will share that with you when I get my thoughts down. I had such a blessed week. Thank you for praying.
