I spent most of my vacation at Saddleback Church with my sister. Thursday we went to a class for Bible Study teachers. It is a four part class and I only got to do lessons one and two. But the teacher was very energetic and had share some good pointers on staying to topic when the section you are studying is so jam packed full of information and different ways you can take it. Our text was Romans 5:1 -11 The titles everyone in the class shared showed the varied directions it could go. Some were A love to Die for; The Cost of Love; The Hope of Glory, etc. My favorite quote was: There is today no lack of Bible teachers to set forth correctly the principles of Christ but too many of those seem satisfied to teach the fundamentals of faith...unaware that there is in their ministry no manifest presence in their personal lives. Here is a few pictures of the Saddleback campus. You can experience pockets of peace everywhere.
This is the entrance to the Children's Bulding. As we walked to class, the whole bottom floor on that side consisted of two year olds classes! It is designed as the Holyland catacombs through out the playground.
This is the Jr High area. It is designed for Beachcombers. This is also where we at dinner the night we went to Celebrate Recovery. It has beach bungalows for classrooms. It also has a stage and a bar-b-que pit!
The teen Building is being built know and will look like a Old West Town! It is suppose to be done next year. I think they are a head of schedule. It reminds me of the old town in Gospel Bill.
Saddleback has a great plan for discipling and growing its members. While I was there, this year and others of the years, we discoveredI just completed all the classes Saddleback requires for ministry 101 201 301 and this trip 401. 401 is my favorite class. I will share some of it next.
In the meantime set a few fireworks off in honor of Canadagirl tomorrow It is her Birthday! Go by and give her your blessings of the day! Happy Birthday Mary and America! We love you both!
