My show and Tell Friday
When I came back from L.A. I went camping with two of our grandchildren and my beloved. The three older Grandchildren are at Summercamp for two weeks (they come home Sunday!). We thought it would be a special treat to take them away and let them be the Big kids for a change. I love going to the Lake it is my favorite place to go.
This week though the wind never stopped blowing was filled with adventure! The water was freezing and our max time in it was 30 minutes before lips turned blue!
We read to books while we were camping. "Christian's Journey" and "What would Jesus do" children's versions of classics
Rock climbing was our favorite thing to do. Zemeira was the first one up this rock. Her Uncle Matty would have been so proud. She found fingerholds and footholds that were maybe a 1/4 deep.
This is our campsite
Notice this picture is taken about noon and they are still in sweatshirts! They never came off!
The savages are restless!
Every year we take our pictures on this Big Rock. Usually it is of my daughter's family with the newest child added! Aren't they cute! 
The sugar high is evident in their eyes from roasting marshmellows! But the excitement is over the double stuff Chocolate Oreos Pa brought. This led to the BIG Lick-off! I beat Jaden, But Zemeira beat everyone!
Zemeira washed dishes after every meal! She was such a good helper!
And Jaden took care of the laundry! while both did pinecone duty!
Great Grandpa Al (Owl) came by for the day so we went back to the rocks.
One last walk to the rock. This is a 3/4 of a mile hike each way everytime we walked there, and four times we went further than the rock to Uncle Shannon's cabin! They are great hikers!

I keep saying this and I will say it again. When I am a grandma I want to be JUST like you. You and your hubby are so good to your grand kids. I wish my kids grandparents did things like this. I just have to make sure when I am the grandma that I will do what I would like for my kids. I just have to convince the kids not to move too far away ! hee hee

I passed by my own blog and noticed that you had stopped by to see me! I missed you, but it looks as if you've had a great time with the grandchildren. They're beautiful, and I loved the camping pics. I'm not much of a camper myself, and my kids even less so, but we do enjoy getting out and seeing nature in all its splendor.
I am only home for a few days. We're on the road with the hubby this summer, and as I've said, I'll go back to Georgia to help my sister soon. I fear that I'll be totally unprepared to begin the next school year, but I trust that the Lord will bless my efforts to keep the first things first. We'll probably see your museum while we're there, dependent upon how much of a fire hazard her house has become (smile).
I am so grateful to have you as a blog buddy. I pray God's blessings upon you today and always, Bobbie. By the way, the picture of my oldest at the top of blog was taken at the Texas Renaissance Festival, worth the effort if you're in the area in October.

Alright, now you're making me want to go camping. I haven't gone in two years, though Rick has taken the older boys several times since then.
We definately wouldn't be wearing sweatshirts, though. More like shorts and galoshes this week.

What a lovely area. When we lived in so. Dakota we also took yearly pictures at the Big Rock hehe. We didn't camp (DH is NOT a happy camper) but do hike alot. Like Mary says... I want to be like you when I grow up too :)
