Encouragement Along the Way

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 34:3

Everybody is home

I haven't seen them yet, except on my Daughter's blog. They all had a wonderful time! Kezziah and Chai were awarded Camper of the Year for their Cabins so they got to bring home their Cabin flags. Tirzah was Awarded the title Camp Prayer Warrior and made a new friend (which she is missing already).  They will be over at lunch time. Thank you for praying for their trip home. Being the Homeschooling parents Sam and Heather they are turned their trip home into a field trip and went to Sutter's Mill.

Yesterday's Church service was on Phil. 2:1-8 yesterday. As we read verse 1 and 2 ....

1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

I found you all on my heart (Especially Heather, Tamara and Dawn)  and I realized this is what HSB is for so many of us. We spend so much time Encouraging one another because we are united in Christ. We comfort one another with the Comfort the Lord has given us ( 2 Cor. 1:3-5 my life verse). This is why we go through the things we go through, so we are not merely sympathetic but have empathy for each other. What I have experienced many of you may also exoerience. What you experience I may experience. If not, we will know someone who is and share your expeiences with them. Doing this we find ways to comfort one another. I watch how the blogging community came to Especially Heather's blog to minister to her only to have her turn the tables on us! I watched how Tamara's loss of her sweet baby boy connected her with Melissa and her loss at the same time. Oh how they needed each other. And oh how it has stretched my prayer life. I know it has because I sit in service and the songs I sing and the scriptures I hear make me lift them to the Lord. When I went to Dawn's blog and read the results of her daughter's MRI my first wonder was has Dawn read Especially Heather's Blog? Oh how I want to comfort them.

Our fellowship in the Spirit with one another has us reading about each other's joys and heartbreaks on a daily basis. As our children and grandchildren go to the Mission field, discover poverty, racism, and slavery outside of their lesson books: see the ravages of sin and disease among the AIDS orphans of the world: as they pray for their furture mates and seek to follow God's plans for their lives: these triumphs of spirit cement our lives together. When our families discover that Free Will is also in Homeschooling families and our children walk away from the truths they have been taught, we know that our prayers for one another and God's Word will bring them back to Jesus! God's Word is true and we will tenderly and compassionately tell one another, you know I did that as a teen too and look a what the Lord has done in my heart. Nothing is impossible with God.

I just wanted to let you know that I love you and that you are DOING the Word of God. You are being like minded and having the same attitude as Christ. YOU are Completing Jesus' Joy, one keystroke at a time. I am so blessed to be in fellowship with you all! And I just wanted to tell you that today!

HAVE A BLESSED DAY IN JESUS!

I'm really finding what you said true. The other day Bethanyrae PM'd me and asked me to go to a blog of a gal who was pg but knew the baby would die at birth. How did bethanyrae know we had only just gone through a similar situation 2 years ago with our grandson? She didn't! She just "picked" 4 bloggers from her friends' list! Doesn't that just give you the chills?
It is nice to meet another grandmother "homeschooler" (do you still have kids at home? I do). It is so neat to be in the "older teaching the younger" position in some areas.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Oh, I went to your daughter's and found out she is a knitter! I left a comment, but she won't be able to link back to me because something messed up. Hope she finds me, as it would be fun to connect on the knitting aspect. It is becoming a lost art.

I have always said that the most desirable homeschool resource is a community of like minded individuals...

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
