The last few weeks I have had so much to share and so much to post. When I saw this at Reviews by Heidi I knew I needed to hold on to this one for Today. Have fun.Celluloid July 12, 2007

1. In your opinion, what is the best translation of a book to a movie?
2. The worst?
3. Had you read the book before seeing the movie, and did that make a difference? (Personally, all other things being equal, I usually prefer whichever I was introduced to first.)
And, by all means, expand this to as long a list as you like. I’m notoriously awful myself at narrowing down to one favorite ANYTHING. So, feel free to list as many “good” or “bad” movie-from-books as you like. (Heaven knows that’s what I’ll be doing….)
Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!
I saw this at reviews by Heidi and thought it would be a fun Tag to do.
1. I think there have been a lot of Books that make great movies. Most recently I really enjoyed the Movie adaotation of Francine River's "The Last Sin Eater" All of the essential storyline elements were wonderfully woven throughout. "The Hiding Place" is a more extensive read but It was extremely will presented. And "Joni" by Joni Erikson Tada was amazing to read and to watch! "The Diary of Anne Frank with Audrey Hepburn or Melissa Gilbert stole my heart., the Book should always be read first. Classically "Jane Eyre" and "Wuthering Heights" were also done well.
2.The very worst book adaptation I have seen was" The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" . I mean they didn't even go to the Diner at the end of the Universe!!! Really the book was good the movie BAD!
3. I have done both. I went to see "The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" which was very true to my childhood!!!! And went out and got the Book. Seeing "Emma" by Jane Austin caused me to read it as well. And Made me a lover of her Books.
SO those are some of my picks. What are some of yours? I would love to know and so would Celluloid.
Have fun with this tag! You can praise a work well done and shoot down a work that should never have been done.
