New Hampshire's famous landmark rock formation, the Old Man of the Mountain, collapses overnight

It seems my birthday is filled with national disasters. Since we lived in New Hampshire hearing that the Old man lost his nose was heart breaking.

2001 - The United States loses its seat on the U.N. Human Rights Commission for the first time since the commission was formed in 1947.

Most people are not aware that  the United States has lost most its seats on UN Committes. This one which was lost  has cost the Nations around the world many lives. This being the greatest of atrocities, On May 4, 2004, United States ambassador Sichan Siv walked out of the commission following the uncontested election of Sudan to the commission, calling it an “absurdity” in light of Sudan’s ethnic cleansing in the Darfur region It is like hand human rights over to Hitler or Stalin!

1999 - Oklahoma City is slammed by an F5 tornado killing 42 people, injuring 665, and causing $1 billion in damage. The tornado was one of 66 from the Oklahoma Tornado Outbreak.

Our Hurricane has me acutely aware of National disasters. This one happened to be on my Birthday and my father who cared for us after Hurricane Andrew for a few weeks, lived in Oklahoma at the time.

Holiday

The National Day of Prayer is a day designated by the United States Congress as a day when all Americans regardless of faith are asked to come together and pray in their own way. It is held on the first Thursday in May. The "National Day of Prayer" Task Force coordinates many local observances of the National Day of Prayer, however, it is an independent non-profit organization and does not act on behalf of the federal government.

I love it when this is my birthday. There is nothing like knowing so many believers are on their knees on your birthday. I love getting together with friends and praying together and then having Birthday cake.
