I am still swooning!
Aw Lori I m filled with songs! "Love is in the air, Everywhere I look around!" I had "The Time of My Life" (I like the song Hate the Movie)....
Every year I think I can't love him anymore than I do today and "Everyday I love him More and More, More and More and More? Cause everyday with you babe is sweeter than the day before!"
We had such a lovely day! We had some plans i knew off and some I did not. I knew we were going out to dinner, but not where. I knew we would have to go to Chico , because there are only diners here. I did not know that we would be "Going To the Chapel" where we were married. Well actually to the courtyard. As you saw in the picture we were married outside in the church yard. Behind the church is a small island and the river goes around it . We dad to walk over a wood bridge and then walked to the place where the river rejoins itself. That is where we said I do and that is where he took to me tell me he still does! My Beloved is my "Heart and Soul" "He fills up my senses like a night in the forest"
Then we went to a new place for dinner and Oh My Goodness "I'm in Heaven and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak" we ate on the terrace in the warmth of the evening. My daughter and her husband had a gift certificate waiting for us (everybody say Aweeee"!) So I will share our menu with you and you can drool....
We began with herbed fruit spritzers and Crispy Calamari with Basil. The dipping sauce was not a Marinara but something elegantly made with maybe yogurt, dill basil and mustard? Oh it was perfect and took our conversation to our fifth anniversary which was spent in Venice Italy in the rain. We had planned to go for the day since I had never left my children overnight anywhere. But Marie insisted and we went on the train without a change of clothing only to be rained on. Trust me Nothing is more romantic than hanging your clothes on a radiator and wrapping up in sheets!
Than we had our entree. Mike is not the kind of man that shares his food, and he didn't today either, But he did try mine, That is true love in his eyes! He had
Roasted Filet of Beef
wax bean and morroccan olive salad, crispy duck fat potatoes and tomato confit
and I had Chimichurri Marinated Lamb Sirloin Brochette
curried rice with currants and almonds, romano beans, mint and harissa yogurt sauce
Oh my mouth is salivating just typing this! I had never had Harissa Yogurt Sauce (Now I have a recipe for it! (But not from there, from google) and I also found a recipe for Tomato confit. He loved it! Lori that would be a good thing to do with your tomatoes!
And because we sat there for two hours just melting into each others eyes.....we even had dessert Pistachio covered cheesecake with Blueberries and champagne honey sauce.
Our plan from there was to go to the movies which would start at 9:30 and have us home my 11:45. We decided we could think of a much better way to spend those two hours and came home instead. I am STILL Smiling!
Thank you for all your sweet comments and well wishes. Mary I haven't been able to find a picture with my full face (I am sure my smile would have blinded the person taking the picture. We were 17 and 16 so we did not have a photographer and since everyone thought it wouldn't last six months they didn't take many either. I will keep looking.
I have no pictures to share from this week-end, they are all stored in my heart.

You sound like you had the 'perfect' evening! Wherever you ate sounds oh, so wonderful! So great that you can still have little romantic times. I personally think marriage grows sweeter with the years that go by. I know for me anyway and I'm sure for you too. I 'thought' I was so in love when I got married, but I'd have to say it's nothing like the love I feel more my husband now. With all we've been through it only make our relationship stronger! So happy for you!

Sounds like a wonderful anniversary celebration! I'm glad you had such a nice time. Those sound like "fancy foods"~ we're always afraid to try stuff like that! LOL

I do so love trying new things. calamari is as typical asfish sticks in Italy. The brave one was Mike who actually tried my lamb and loved it!
It always depends on who prepares it. I hope the next time you go out you think of me and try something exotic.

My cup runneth over with tomatoes. I'm glad you all had a wonderful date night. Maybe you should contact orbit to do a bright smile comercial. LOL.

So...what is your anniversary date? Mine is August 18, and we'd planned to go to the ocean...in a hotel and everything. But our lives became a jumbled mess and I just couldn't spend the weekend away from a huge commitment needing to be finished by Friday (a monster garage sale NOT of my making, but of my son and daughter-in-law who are not together now). I weep just thinking about it.
So your entry brought a smile at what you did for your special day and I was just wondering if it was the same day as mine. And how many years? Mine was 34.

Thanks, Bobbie. Do they host just files that are just for audio, and not video?? We tried to do a video, but by the time it was uploaded, both the picture and the sound were too distorted.

PS That post sounds just too entirely romantic. I'm jealous :o) No I'm kidding. What a blessing for you.
