Encouragement Along the Way

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

My random eight as a child

Posted in Tags

I have been tagged by Matt6 I am so honored to be asked so politely if I would like to do this tag. So in honor of Matt being 6 years old, I decided to do his tag at his age. After all, I am only 5.1!

Here are the rules of this tag:

1.) You start with posting 8 random things about yourself ( No personal info).

2.) The person tagged must post the tag on his/her blog and he/she must post the rules on their blog.

3.) Then the player must pick 8 people and tag them. Leave a note to let them know they have been tagged.

8 random things about me.

#1. Three days before my seventh birthday I was hit by a car. I was "IN" the crosswalk, the light "Was" green, I was hit by a car turning left. He pinned me between his car and a SHERIFF's car. No getting away with that one!

#2. My sister had taken me to the Library, because I love to read. She saved my life when she saw the car coming and tried to pull me out of the way. The car crushed her wrist, but her pull kept it from crushing my internal organs.

#3. I broke my femur (it is the large thigh bone) It takes 2000 lbs of pressure to break that bone! I was in traction for 4 weeks.

#4. I had a cast for five months. It went from my toes up over my ribcage! I was on crutches for two months when they finally took it off.

#5 My mom would let me lay on the kitchen table and watch the kids play outside. It is also where I colored a lot.  I love to color!

#6 I had my 7th birthday in the hospital. A candy striper gave me my first Barbie that day. I also got a skunk puppet I named Stinky and a very cool package of crayons that had plastic holders, and a stuffed kitty that when you twisted its tail it played Brahm's Lullaby.

#7 I still have all the letters and pictures my classmates made for me while I was in the hospital (they were in the important papers file we took with us when we evacuated ). They are treasures and I do consider them Important papers.

#8 My daddy ate dinner with me every night at the hospital. When he had to go home, the nurse would come in and give me a shot. I cried every time my daddy had to leave.

So I have to pick eight people to do this tag with six year old Matt. So if you remember being 5, 6, 7 or 8 and want to play let me know. I think this is a very good creative writing assignment for kids!

Oh my goodness! I am so happy that your sister saved your life. I like having bubbebobbie in my life and as my friend. ;o) The kids ended up calling all of the teens yesterday. You know how relentless teens are......they're like...."who cares about a little rain." I took lots of pics and will be posting all the fun tomorrow. Flat Stanley would of had so much fun!

Blessings,
Lori

What a horrible experience! I don't remember much from that age so I'd better not play.

Aug. 27, 2007 - you have a great memory

If I remember anything worth blogging about I'll let you know. Matt also asked me so nicely, I was very impressed but had to decline.

So cute! I love the tag... I'm afraid I can't remember much about that young age though...
Thanks for commenting on my blog about the fig jelly. I have some photos posted on my blog today of the figs on the tree. It's pretty cool to share with those who have only tasted fig newtons. These are very different. Oh, my secret ingredient is strawberry jello.

Have a great day today.

With my mom's visit, I haven't been on the computer much lately. I am way behind on blogging and have spent the last several minutes reading your posts. You know you have shared two very dramatic stories of how God intervened to save your life ~ our God is an awesome God!

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
