Encouragement Along the Way

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 34:3

God always knows

Some people are allowed to have a savings account. This is usually not the case for most military families and has always been the case for mine. We thought once we retired, maybe then it would be our turn...but alas, no.

We received some unexpected Money this week. We didn't know it was coming, it just did. So we put it in the savings account.  And thought what a wonderful blessing.

We put the check in the bank Wednseday. This was right before the Coffee pot brokeThursday morning and  the Deep fryer quit in the midst of French fries Thursday night. Those are simple things to replace when needed. But then Saturday morning we woke up, and right before 321 Penguins or Larry Boy, it was right BEORE so I don't know which one it was, Our TV picture tube blew. The good news ...it is Labor Day weekend hooray for sales, and since we have an analog TV and in a year and a half all TVS will have to be digital or have a converter box...We went and bought a new TV. And we bought a new coffee pot and a new Deep Fryer cause the grandkids love homemade french fried and fried green Tomatoes.

It fits our space perfectly, It has raved Consumer reports information, and we had the money in "savings". Ha haa! God always knows when we will need a blessing.

And somehow, the money is always there, even for essentials like groceries and Rescue Heroes.

Jehovah Jireh, rocks my world! Yipee, ya hoo, so glad He blessed you. Okay, okay, I'll settle down now. LOL

(Hee, hee, hee.) Glad to know you won't be suffering without a TV. Now, I wonder if our TV is analog. Must go check. How do I know? Oh, I'll ask my DH. :-) Have a wonderful Labor Day, my friend!

Sep. 3, 2007 - too funny!

What a great blessing! Between you and my best friend, I've now been shown how great God is, especially with finances! My friend just had their 7th child about 5 weeks ago (he was a month early too). Things have been super tight for them and she and I have been brainwashing for the past month on how to save, yet we've both been encouraging each other to "just have faith, God will provide." Well, she was sitting in the church yesterday before Mass and someone calls her DH to the office, hands him an envelope. He doesn't open it but rather goes back to his wife and hands it to her. She opens it and is FLOORED. After Mass, she asks the priest where it came from and why. A parish couple that was moving had closed out a savings account and left the ENTIRE balance to my friend. They told the priest "We've received so much from this parish that we could only be so kind to return the favor and help a new family, especially one that is so big and can use it." My friend got a $750 check, with no strings attached! It was so great!!!!!!

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm so encouraged!!!!

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
