When life happens on a daily basis
I am thinking I have pictures to post, but will have to add them later. We built the Sukkah this week for the beginning of the feast of Tabernacles which begins tonight. Last night my beloved and my SIL went out and cut branches and decorating is next.
Having my tooth pulled did have me out a commission a couple days, But I am doing well now. I even managed to do a full series of antibiotics and NOT get a yeast infection for which I am rejoicing. I know TMI! But this is a first for me!
Over the weekend was Living History (in the rain) Heatherlee , Tirzah and Kezziah made dresses on Friday and wore them while they sat at their spinning wheels all weekend. Zemeira got to go as well and showed off her drop spinel skills and then ran around doing laundry on a scrub board, making bread and jam and helping on a quilt. It was great fun.
Over the rainy week end Mike and I cuddled on the couch watching movies. All three were great. We watched Wild Hogs, A night at the museum and Premonition

We had the nicest time. Just stepping back from all the busi-ness. I was surprised at how good Premonition was. I usually don't do scary, but I do love suspense. This was done by the same guys that did Sixth Sense and had the same I am really trying to follow this.... aspects. The other two just pure comedy (with touches of History).
Last night everyone stayed for dinner while Zemeira baked apple pies. Her little fingers are the perfect size for decorating crust edges. (: It was hectic with EVERYONE wanting to help. and reminding them that she has waited a whole week to do this was difficult. But we did it and they were yummy.
The Farmers' market was canceled this morning as "colds" seem to be invading our family. I think mine is a sneeze or two away.
We have managed to get through Leif Erikson and Columbus and are heading toward the beginnings of England's African slave trade and the Inquisition. Hoping to hit the colonies at Thanksgiving.
Now as we begin the celebrating of Sukkot I give you this to consider. This is the feast the Pilgrims were celebrating during the first thanksgiving, The Biblical feast of Tabernacles.

I pray that you don't get a cold. I have seen all 3 of those movies. I think that I liked A Night At The Museum best. Premonition was definitely suspenseful, but I figured it out before it had ended. The boys of course liked Wild Hogs. LOL. We are meeting with K's (a.k.a. withHim4ever) family for their Sukkot celebrations. I hope that you all enjoy yours.
Blessings,
Lori

Wow. I've got some catching up to do. I haven't seen any of these films. I have such a hard time finding good wholesome movies that I can watch without being offended or my God being offended! Let me know what you think of these...

Even though the movie starts out with yet another irresponsible, divorced dad (my husband and I often question in this feminist era where are the mature, responsible fathers), Night at the Museum is one of our favorite current movies. I'm hoping and praying you'll continue to feel better.

Can I come to your house and sit in on all the wonderful festivities and yummy baking? My honey and I relaxed with movies this weekend too. Our grandson Isaac who is 2 1/2 was with us all afternoon Friday and we got to have a sleep over too. How precious to have a little one back in his Daddys old room sleeping. Our second grandchild will be here at Thanksgiving (hopefully not in the middle of dinner) so mine are young and I have to wait a few years to get things kickin. I've been praying for Tirzah and hoping the Lord is touching her with complete "Fix It" healing. I am sure that there was enough of that buffalo squash to compensate for no farmers market this week. That thing was huge! Praying for all of you to have a blessed week and for all colds and sneezes to vanish for you. I love your blog and I feel right at home coming to visit. Thanks for such great hospitality and I'll be back.
Love You, Laurie in Ca.

I can't wait to see pictures of your sukkot. It will be like being virtual guests. I have never put one up. It is too cold in Minnesota by this time of year. We usually just have our last bar-b-q before putting the grill away and decorate our home for fall. The last two years we have watched Ushpizin too.

Feast of the Tabernacles: That is extremely interesting! I've never heard/read about the first pilgrims celebrating this feast.. maybe because I was in public school?? I have asked 3 pastors if born-again Christians should be following or "doing" some of these things, and they never have a solid answer.
thanks for the links

We never got a straight answer either so we went to the scriptures and no where does it say as soon as I fulfill the prophetic part of any festival are you to stop celebrating it. So we do.
These are designed to worship God and teach the children. For us these outshine other holidays.
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
