Show and Tell with Canadagirl
Posted in Tags

Today is show and tell with Canada Girl and I don't want to miss out!!! So here is our Sukkah (which we took down yesterday in preparation for tonight which is as follows, Tirzah's Bat Mitzvah, Simca Torah and Congregation Harie Yeshua's FIRST Anniversary!) The two girls in the center top and center bottom are friends, but all the rest are my grandchildren. Can you say "Busy Bubbe?" The girls all have on white dresses because that is the traditional dress for Sukkot.
Tonight my sister Carolyn flies in, she will miss the ceremony, but be here for the weekend. She couldn't get anyone to trade work with her. This weekend is also Johnny Appleseed days and Farm Days and Mike's Dad's Birthday. This is all after tonight!
This week Kezzi came over and made a pillow for her sister. It is a Mary Englebriet panel that says Princess of Quite-A-Lot. She quilted it and embellished it in a few places with metallic treads. I have made Shabbat candle holders, pot holders, an apron and a dress for tonight.Oh and Iined her hope chest making a secret compartment and everything. I did not finish the Challah cover I am making so it will be a birthday present for Tirzah on her "Roman Calendar Birthday." Tonight is her Hebrew Calendar birthday thus the reason her Bat Mitzvah is tonight. And in the midst of all that made sure Tirzah completed her speech for tonight which she did on Wednesday!
I wll have much to share so stay tuned!
Because of Jesus, Bobbie

Very pretty Sukka. My family & I went to the Sukkot celebration with *K's* family. Anna (Dancing4Him) has a picture of her and Ashley underneath their Sukka. I think she even has a picture on there of us dancing. I will be praying that all goes well for the Bat Mitzfa.
Blessings,
Lori

Oh how cool!
I've always wanted to do the Sukkot and all the wonderful Fall Jewish holidays. They are so rich with meaning.
Sounds like you are a very busy Bubbe indeed!

Hello, dear one! I just read your blog and looked at all the wonderful pictures. Heatherlee's shawl is so beautiful! I was wondering if you could share a little about where all your Jewish celebrating "comes from," if you know what I mean? I've missed that part of your family's journey, somehow! ;-) Thanks--I look forward to reading the story!
Love, Misty

We had a "Sukkah" here at Shekinah Farms one year (unfortunately, I didn't even "think" to take a picture, duh!) I absolutely loved it! It was sooooo fun. And so much better than just "telling" my kids the story of the Israelites doing this - traveling and setting up and taking down, all the time, their homes.
I keep wanting to do it again, but when fall comes around, I think of it after someone like you posts/blogs about it and I realized it came and gone. When I Get More Organized - this is one of those things I won't be missing.
