You are so patient! Tirzah's Bat Mitzvah!
Posted in Tirzah hsp missions
This will be a long post, for there is so much to share and so much you want to know. I will try to keep your hearts involved and even though the pictures at times are more than fuzy (I was holding the almost two year old on my lap at the time) The spirit of the photo is still very present.
Tirzah Lee is the first woman ever in our family to have a Bat Mitzvah. Her mother did not, I did not nor did any of the women before me. It just wasn't done. I have been asked about our Jewish root s as well. For most of my life they were hidden, mine and my husband's. Like many Jews in a new land, we were Catholic, that was safe and the litergy and the way the Catholic church so willingly faked Baptismal certificates during dangerous times made it comfortable, It is just the way things were done.

Preparation...It really didn't begin here, she has been preparing all year. But Here is Tirzah Setting up to light the Shabbat Candles.

You always light the center candle first, this is the Servant candle the Shamashim. This candle always represents Yeshua and how He ignites us for service.

| Blessing over Candles |

Barukh atah Adonai, Eloheinu, melekh ha'olam
Blessed are you, Lord, our God, sovereign of the universe |

asher kidishanu b'mitz'votav v'tzivanu
Who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us |

l'had'lik neir shel Shabbat. (Amein)
to light the lights of Shabbat. (Amen |
Tirzah's daddy, Pastor Sam is holding her Microphone.
She looks so small standing with these men before the congragetion, before the Lord.

The Torah scroll is opened and with her precious Yad a gift from Miss Sue She begins to read it.

Genesis 1 In the Beginning, so graceful and confident and so small as her daddy on the right and her grandpa (my Beloved) next to him watches over her (in more ways than one).

I won't point out her grandpa's tears, (oh yes I will :) They are both so proud.

I lift up my eyes to the Hills......

Today I am a woman, but that does not mean I am leaving my parents' house. Giggles all around!

She wove in stories of her life, how she asked the Lord into her life etc. Oh how I love them and her!

Then as a woman she presented her causes to the congregation. She hared how she is praying for those in Darfur and how now her Uncle is a pastor to many of the Lost Boys of Darfur. The 1,500,000 stands for the children Killed in the Holocaust. She is making and collecting butterflies for the Houston Holocaust museum.
This is also when her grandpa prayed over her and read Psalm 121 over her for the second time in her life.

So open to the Messiah's charge.

Her first dance as a Woman of Harie Yeshua's Congregation.

Leading the Horah while holding the Torah Scrolls as they end the Bat Mitzvah portion and begin Simca Torah service!

I know the picture quality is bad and they are dancing so fast, but the joy on Zemeira's face dancing behind her daddy never left her face all night. She and Kezziah love to dance for the Lord. And I love watching them.
You have all been so loving and so patient. Thank you for sharing in our joy. Mazel Tov Sweet Tirzah Lee!

I'm so glad things went well. I so wish I could have been there to share in your joy. You brought it to life to me through pictures though. I cried all the way through it. They grow up so fast!

Bobbie, This is just beautiful as I sit here with goose bumps from head to toe. It is such a sweet blessing when a man is moved in his heart to tears. I love it. The shawl her mom so lovingly made for her is more beautiful on her than a halo! Your heart must have been bursting as a new tradition for women in your family has begun out in the open, under God.
Reminds me of the sunday school song going through my mind right now "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine". Tirzah is the new light shining forth for all the girls who will follow in her footsteps. What a great in your family for this generation and all that follow.
It was definitely worth the wait and the beauty of Jesus shines all over Tirzahs' beautiful face. What a joy!!
Love you and your family, Laurie in So. Ca.

Sometimes I feel a twinge of envy when I read about your life- The Jewish race holds such a precious place in God's heart! How special and honored that makes you. You must be oh-so-proud of your granddaughter. What a neat ceremony. I wish us Baptists had something like that! Even though I am not of Jewish lineage, I have been grafted into God's family- Praise God for that! How full of Joy Tirzah looks.

Mazel Tov, Tizrah!
We, too, are Jewis on my dad's side. His birth name was Applebaum, but his parents died when he was 11. His father's family was all but destroyed during the Holocast. That we know ,the only surviving members were those that were here in the US.
It's a heritage worthy of remebering and celebrating.

I am here better late than never. Oh, what a beauty ! I can't describe it so well but I feel so full and I think I would say I feel the Lord so strong when I ready this caption of your dgd's celebration. We won't be able to put on a proper Bar Mitzvah for my 2ds but we will have a coming of age gathering with the men for him. Praying for him in his coming into manhood. On October 24th. Yes, committing these future leaders to the Lord is VERY important. I wish I had a congregation like yours near by. You are so blessed.
Blessings and (( hugs)) my SSiC

Bobbie,
Thank you so much for sharing Tirzah's Bat Mitzvah with us. I remember when she was born. I can't believe how fast she has grown up. I love the idea of the butterflys. Butterflys remind me of the freedom we have in Christ. The children and I would like to help with the project, what do we do? Thank you
Love Toni
