Show and tell with CanadaGirl .... The Loot!!!!

Sometimes I hate HSB. One of those times is when I get the whole post ready and I loose it! This is how my morning began.

But this is a loving post and starting again is worth it so here goes. This is my Show and Tell.

Bat Mitzvah is very Spiritual and filled with The Holiness of the Lord which is why I posted that part first. If you havent seen it , you can see it here, first. It is also a Birthday celebration filled with presents.

The first three are in sequence of her present from Aunt Christy. It begins with a sweet Birthday card and that is the look on Tirzah's face...How sweet.

The next photo says "Oh there is money in here."

The next is priceless...the words out of her mouth were almost pained..."Oh my gosh it is 100.00 dollars!

This is priceless. But the card said the following. This is for the start of your savings account for your Missions trip. If it is alright with your Doctor, your parents and of course your Bubbe and PA I would like to take you to Rwanda! I can't even capture in pictures her heart as she read these words. her hearts desire in a card. (please pray she can do this we will talk to the doctor in December)

Next came Aunt Carolyn's present. We are a very competitive family so Aunt Carolyn needed to out do aunt Christy flew out from Houston to hand deliver her present and since Aunt Christy gave her a check for 100.00 Aunt Carolyn brought it in cash!

Tirzah's response was "I have always wanted to see one of these!" So cute!

She received an heirloom present from her paternal grandparents that could not attend because of health problems. It is the kind of present we always blog about...This used to belong to my grandmother"

It is so lovely it is shaped like an Israeli oil pot and says "I am a vessel" on it. Her daddy was so proud slipping it on her neck.

When Heatherlee (Tirzah's mom) was 15 her grandpa took her out on her first date and gave her a ring. So today now Tirzah's Great-grandpa he gave her a dainty ring with a small gold heart with a cross carved into the heart. Very touching.

The hat she is wearing she got from her brother Chai. I over heard him telling Aunt Carolyn...I really wanted that hat, but so did Tirzah. Everytime we went into the Christian Bookstore she would put it on so I decided if I bought it for her it was almost like it was mine. Yes that made me cry!

Kezziah sewed all day to make her sister's present. She quilted it, embellished it and sewed it together all by herself. It was such a labor of love and I was so pleased with her. Not to mention we had such fun spending the day together just the two of us.

Isn't it lovely!

This is what kept me away from the computer all week. Since Bat Mitzvah is a coming of age ceremony Pa and I decided to honor that and get her a hope chest. However when you live in a three bedroom with six kids, you have to think smaller. So this is what we found (don't you just love Tuesday Morning Stores)

We chose to fill it with all she would need for a sabbath table (although I am still working on the Challah cover). Inside this box is her Apron for holidays.

It has holiday scenes all over it.

It also has Pot holders Which will match her Challah cover.

Kezziah helped me Line the box with Tirzah's favorite color. The Shabbat candlestick holders we embelished. I looked and looked on line for them and in sand stone they ran around two hundred dollars. Really! So we bought the Passion stones (from Passion of the Christ) which were almost free and found two Sandstone Cndlesticks that almost match and put them together for less than 10% of the cost of the ones we saw online. And added Sunburst colored Sabbath candles.

Her she is with all her loot!

As you can see she is an avid reader. (and the stuffies say she is not quite a woman yet)

There are things I want you to know about Tirzah. She has great vision. She wants to Change the World. Her favorite book is "Be the Change" by Zach Hunter. She is collecting butterflies for the Houston Holocaust Museum 1,500,000 butterfy project. If your kids would like to make and send her a butterfly Using any medium email me and I will send you her address.

She wants to be a missionary to Aids Orphans in Africa. So she has decided that she is going to Recycle to go to Rwanda. Her "Pa" is going to set her up a website. I will let you know when it is up.She collected 52.00 in cans so far. not bad!

Tirzah prays daily for the People of Darfur. Imagine her surprise when she found out Uncle paul was Pastoring the Lost Boys and other families from Darfur. The squeals heard round the world!

And lastly for three years she has pleaded with us to let her see The Passion of the Christ. Tomorrow is the day. It is her birthda so she is coming to spend the day with bubbe and Pa go out to grown up dinner and come home and watch Passion of the Christ. Please pray for her tender heart. (and others as well)  She is mature enough to see this, and she wants to see it for all the right reasons.

So that is my Show and Tell with Canadagirl.

So we have another connection my Sweet Twin...Africa. I may one day go to another country and I pray that I will let the Lord work through me no matter what my location is. I love that she wants to do the Lords bidding despite her challenges.

Blessings and ((hugs)) to you and your kin.

You are right. This was worth the effort to post. I lost my entry because of one slip of my finger! It was my fault. I loved seeing all of these pictures. You are a blessed family!

Oct. 13, 2007 - butterflies

Posted by Clanclave

I love watching young girls growing into women. It reminds me so much of butterflies and how they change into these stunning, beautiful and smart creatures that are just so full of God's love. I don't know why this particular post touched me (ok, I'm hormonally pregnant) but I just couldn't help but to feel such joy radiating from the pictures. She is a gorgeous young lady and I wish her the best with all her dreams and aspirations. Thank you so much for sharing! And speaking of butterflies... my kids would LOVE to help her in her quest for butterflies. Please email me with more information. My oldest, having been born in Germany, knows of the concentration camps and even at her young age, understands the Holocaust. I will also enlist the help of many of our friends/family that are all over the world to send butterflies as well (our post card project was such a success that we learned of countries, not just states... gotta love the military!). So please, email me with all that info! Thanks B! You are such an inspiration to all us "yung'un's!" And thanks for your prayers regarding my pregnancy. They are lifting me up (along with the strength of my husband). Peace to you! T

Wow, I'm speechless.

This is truly a beautiful, spectacular, special time in Tirzah's life. This is the beauty of Jewish tradition. How wonderful.

I am in awe of how special every gift was. Each gift is beautiful, special, and unique.

And you captured this special day so well. Tirzah's expression at the monetary gift was priceless.

Tirzah's external beauty seems to parallel her inward beauty. I am guessing that there is a lot to be learned from her parents :)

Thank you for sharing, this was totally beautiful.

Bobbie,
This is absolutely breathtaking to see the glow on Tirzahs face here. What a beautiful celebration for such a beautiful young lady! She has such a big dream in her loving heart. She will do it and make big changes, I just know it. All of her gifts are so precious and the looks on her face, priceless! This memory will remain in the hearts of your entire family for eternity with many more children to follow. All the preparations must have blessed your heart.

Love, Laurie in So Ca.

Wow! This is such a neat post and so beautiful. It brought back memories of attending my friends' b'nai mitzfa (sp?) -- they were twins.

I love the hope chest, too! In fact, if you care to share where you found such a beautiful small one -- we too are very limited on space.

Have a wonderful week.

This and the post before just about brought tears to my eyes. I am not sure why except I could feel the love in your writings towards your family. The pictures are great. How blessed you are to have such a beautiful family.
