I love show and Tell Fridays with Canada girl
Posted in Tags
Really, I do. I love show and tell with Canadagirl. Truth is, I love this SSiC! As my Canadian Aunts would say, "She is a hoot!"
If you would like to have fun on Fridays with us, go to Canadagirl's blog and sign Mr Linky!!!
I decided since Heatherlee , Sam and all their children are away at Ingathering (a five day Jews for Jesus Family retreat) that I would post pictures of them from earlier this week so I won't miss them so much.
It is Apple season here in Northern California. I still haven't picked up my Pink Lady apples yet, but they have finally arrived!
But back to Show and Tell. Beverly a woman in my Bible Study has so many apples on her tree she needed us to have a bushel or two. So we made pies and apple crisps, but the most fun came when Torzah , Kezzi and I made caramel apples for the whole family.

You may notice that some are caramel in color a perfect light tan, while others are dark in color like toffee.

Some are chewy and some are crackly. This would be because instead of turning off the flames on the stove when it was perfect, we turned it to low instead.

This miscalculation did not stop anyone from enjoying their confections! Autumn tastes so yummy!
I hope Autumn is tasting yummy at your home too!
Come see what everyone has to share for Show and tell with CanadaGirl. It is so much fun!

Mmm... sticky! Beautiful grandkids and a cool Grandma. I never let Marissa eat anything sticky in the living room. Why, I don't even let her eat popsicles and watermelon in the house! I think I need to relax so we can create some memories...
I love Pink Lady apples. When I was younger, I must not of had a developed palate because I couldn't tell the difference in apples. Now I most definitely have a preference!

Just a little great...Kezzi on the floor is the usual food in the livingroom place. But I have always remembered a story Gregg Harris shared about Sono stressing over their new couch and snapping at the kids, so he went to the kitchen got a bottle of mustard squeezed it on the couch cushions and said "Now can we enjoy our new couch?" So we have a "Mustard" attitude! Hee hee!

I love apples! Especially carmel apples. I'm glad you got such a good crop, all of ours got bit by the frost bug last spring and many crops were ruined.

Thanks for joining the "grandma club" and posted pics of the grandkids. I think thats' all I've done all week is post fun things we're doing. You and Karen were my silent inspiration to go ahead and post pics of GKs.
DD made caramel apples with her little DD on AWANA night, when the boys were at AWANA. She "hid out" at my house, as we live way off the road and in 30 years no trick-er-treaters have ever ventured up the long, dark drive. She lives across the street in a development, so she wanted out of there. My DS and his wife live in an apt. behind us and wanted to hide out too, so it was a fun evening. However, DD's apples "ran" with most of the caramel ending up on the plate.

Those look yummy!
I'm thinking i'd never let the kids eat something so sticky on the sofa.......but you are the Bubbe, not the mommy and Bubbe's do those kinds of things. Mine are rarely allowed to take food out of the kitchen.

The sure sign of a good grandma - letting the kids eat sticky taffy apples on her couch. You get an A+ !
