Now that you are Finally watching Amazing Grace....
There is a Study guide so consider it a class!
http://www.theamazingchange.com/documents/AmazingGraceDiscussionPoints_001.pdf
It is a study guide to go with the movie to stimulate education. And this movie is an Education.
There are graphic scenes in this movie but they are an intregal part of this movie just as Death Camps are in a Holocaust movie. Well done and necessary.
And you may want to read Be The Change by Zach Hunter (15 year old fighting the modern day slave trade ) MODERN DAY SLAVE TRADE?
Are you aware of current human trafficking?
During Wilberforce's day there were aprox 11,000,000 slaves today there are over 27,000,000 slaves.
Here are some statistics at my granddaughter's blog
You can also watch this video for more understanding on Slavery and what slaves are being used for today here.

We can make a difference one signature at a time, one act at a time.

Now go rent/buy the movie and change the world.
Amazing Grace....it is such a sweet sound

Amazing Grace was different than I thought it would be. It was still good, but I thought it was going to be more about the man who wrote the song- he was once a slave trader, but got saved, and God in his grace forgave him of his sins. I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't more about him. It was still a good movie, though.

Hey, lady, and I do hope all is well.
Amazing Grace was my last time at a movie theatre, and it was a total treat as a movie; I can't wait to buy a DVD (used). I even blogged about it:

I really enjoyed this movie too. I did know about modern slavery. There is a system in Haiti called Restaveks, to stay with, in which poor people send their children to live with richer people in exchange for education, food and shelter. In reality, the children are rarely educated. Instead they work very hard in exchange for just enough food to keep them alive. I have a video about this posted on the tabbed page about Haiti. (The second video. The first video shows Herius as he was being admitted to a Rescue Center for severe malnutrition. Herius died on November 21.)

Yes, I am aware of what is going on with the slave traffic now days. In addition to being more slaves now, the African slaves of the past in the US south were valuable commodities, some valued in the thousands of dollars. Slaves today are worth almost nothing and are expendable--because there are so many people to enslave and oppress. This is an outrage! I read VOM magazine and many slaves in other parts of the world are Christians in slavery to Muslims.
Come back quick, Jesus!
