Encouragement Along the Way

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 34:3

I am so blessed

I really am blessed abundantly. God is so very gracious to me and since I know the Grace He had to extend to me to call me His own. I know the abundance it took!

When I think about conversations with the Saints of Old in Heaven, my desire s are to sit down with Mrs Noah and ask her how she managed to do everything right for her husband? When the wole world was talking evil about the man she loves how did she handle it ? When your husband says I am inviting a few thousnad animals for "Thanksgiving" and they wil be with us for a year, how did you handle that too? And I know she had to be the best Mother-in-law in all creation, because her daughter-in-laws actually got on the ark. Lot's son-in-laws didn't go with him! So I figure she had to do it all rightly because if she hadn't we would have read about her in the scriptures. Just look at Job's wife, she goes through all the same traumas her husband does (because being one flesh means your beloved's trial is also YOUR trial) and yet we do not hear about the mourning of her heart until she looks at her husband and says "Curse God and Die!" Thus the reason I believe Mrs. Noah did it all right and I can hardly wait to discuss it over a cup of tea.

Why? Because I KNOW holding my tongue is not my gift! There is a scripture in Proverbs that says, I have set a guard over your lips. (bubbe paraphrase) and being a military wife, I see ha soldier rifle in hand standing guard over my lips and the next thing you know.....I have flatten the poor dude with my Tank! Thankfully teh Lord has a lot of guards and quiets my heart so well.

The Lord has gifted me with you amazing women in my life. I am so blessed to call you friend. Your prayers. love and fellowship have truly been felt as we dealt with Lynda's passing. You encourage me with the Word of the Lord and the Hope of the Kingdom to come. You always encourage me so much.

So just imagine my surprise when Tiany told me she Nominated me for "BEST ENCOURAGER" for the 2007 Homeschool Blog Awards! I know I had to have atleast three nominations to be placed on the list, so to the other Two, I thank you so much! To be nominated by Tiany whom I admire so much blessed my heart to overflowing. Thanks so much. You added another reason to praise the Lord this weekend.

If you would like to see the list of Nominations for the 2007 Homeschool Blog Awards click this Link! What am amazing list of women of God. You have a week to get to know them, because Voting begins Dec.3.

Because of Jesus, Bobbie

Hi Bobbie!

Now, don't be soooo surprised. How couldn't a blog titled "Encouragement Along The Way" be nominated as the best encourager. I was one of the 3... or probably one of hundreds that nominated you. You definitely have my vote! You have sooooo encouraged me. I have laughed, cried, rejoiced and loved all of the songs & fellowship that we have been blessed to share.

Song for today ~ "Thank You For Giving To The Lord"

Love ya bunches!
Lori...oh yeah, & it's good to be back! ;o)

That's an interesting thought about Mrs. Noah. You're right. She had to be a lot different than Job's wife. As I already said - interesting. :)

Oh, yes. You asked how many did we have for Thanksgiving. There were 41 of us plus another family that came for dessert. I made two 20# turkeys but we only ate one. Of course, there was ham and everything else but I was surprised that we didn't need the extra turkey.

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
