Yesterday there was no trace of my snowman, well his rock eyes and fern mohawk were on the ground. But nothing else! It had rained for three days and melted everything.

That is not the case this morning!

As you can see we are blanketed with winter's beauty.

So why are we getting so much snow?

In the summer our lake looked like this! This is the corner of our dam. It is an Earth filled Dam!

Along time ago, this was part of the Feather river and we didn't have a lake. Oroville Dam created our Lake and our change in weather. It is now 15 degrees warmer (this is the REAL cause of Global Warming)

However this fall after a very warm , dry, almost drought like conditions spring and summer and after sending almost all the Lake water to L.A for drinking water. The Lake actually is 75% lower than normal. Thus we have a River again , cooler temps and Hooray our snow has returned!

This is that very same lake The treeline is where the water usually is. This was taken two months ago. At the time this was taken, they were very concerned that we were going into severe drought conditions.

When we were kids, the snowfalls here would be lovely and deep. And this is the first time in five years I have seen our winter return. I guess God knew what He was doing when He gave us a River and not a Lake!

Psalm 74:15-17 It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever flowing rivers. The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.
