I would love to say we had our slumber party because we really love Gound Hogs day. Truth is we really do love Ground hogs day. Our favorite Ground hog story concerns my son and our move to New Hamshire when he was 7 years old.
When Military families move they start out in temporary housing which is like a hotel and that is where we were in the fall. The leaves were stunning and the playground beside our room look like a trap set by the gingerbread house witch in the woods. Heatherlee and Matty were outside playing in this new environment , totally different from the Asphalt jungle of Washington DC. The next thing we heard were fear field screams as Matt ran into the house yelling..".It's a baby Bear! It's a Baby Bear!!!!" He was so frightened.
Daddy sprang to the rescue ran outside since Heatherlee was still out there. Only to find her laughing her head off. The Baby Bear, was a ground hog! For the next four years, everytime a ground hog ran through our yard , which was often, everyone cried " Run , A Baby Bear!"
So you see, we do love Ground hogs day and good ol' Phil.
And we did not have a slumber party because of The Super Bowl. Another thing we love to celebrate, especially since New England was playing. The game brought many tears.... And one highly hysterically happy contentious Son-in-law , who loves to go against the flow , just to make things interesting. I decided He could sleep in the snow! Pa let him come back in!
No our slumber party was because the kids' phone line was down and with the snow storm there was no way for them to get in contact with us. So since the electicity did go out, and they would have had no heat, I am very glad my Belovedinsisted they stay the night.
Besides, it made for a great show and tell!
Now, I have catch my breath and prepare to vote tomorrow.
Hope you had a fulfilling weekend too!
