Encouragement Along the Way

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 34:3

Jun. 14, 2008
We are still waiting

The fire is 35% contained which is good news especially for those on the southern edge of the fire. We have a couple of roads open now that had been closed and that is good too. We now have bout 3000 firefighters.

The Canyon fire is our concern. It turned away from us last night, but this morning the winds have changed AGAIN and it is blowing right toward my Father-in-laws. Not close enough for them to say evacuate, it is still south but we are prepared for when it does come.

The prayers have been such a blessing. At one time, 0ver 5000 homes were threatened and so far only 66 have been burned. Some areas it seems like a tornado hit and miss. This I believe is because of defensible space around the houses. When you live in the mountains, making sure the brush is away from the house is so important.

This morning Heatherlee's move is still going forward (safer there than here anyway) so I will be watching the little ones while everyone else moves furniture. Please pray all goes smoothly and no one gets hurt lifting, pulling, carrying stuff!

For a safety for the moving crew today.

I'll also be praying for the fire to be contained and firemen to be safe.

In our area we are dealing with floods.

One of our service project is to bake cookies for the local fire and police people.

Glad your PT is going well.
Blessings,
Linda

I will be praying for your family, the move and for the fires to die down. With God all things are possible! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Have a blessed Fathers Day weekend.

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
