Show and Tell with CanadaGirl ~ Glass Beach
I usually begin this with saying Today is Show and Tell with CanadaGirl. But it is not , I am a day late! Somehow Yesterday got away from me. I am sure it was because Tirzah was Flying to my sister's and Talia got her ears pierced. But whatever it was I am here today. I want to thank you all for praying for Tirzah, she loved her flight, even saw dolphins as she flew over the ocean. They let her dad go to the Gate with her where he over heard a couple talking about their Bible Study. Being the Pastor/Dad he is he asked them if Tirzah could sit with them. SO she was well cared for and got safely to my sister. Thanks so much. Today will be an all day training affair with her team.
SO one to Show and Tell. I still have a LOT of Anniversary pictures to share with you. Today I want to share with you one of my Favorite places. It is called Glass Beach.

Glass Beach is a beautiful, rugged beach west of Fort Bragg, with cliffs and crashing waves. There's little sand, but nevertheless, Glass Beach is one of California's most interesting beaches. he Fort Bragg city dump once stood here. It closed in the 1960s, but broken glass remained. Over the years it's been ground and polished. It so reminded me of the Lord. He takes all our garbage and through the tumbling crashing of our lives in His care they become treasures of beauty.

It is hard to believe that this was once a dump and is reclaimed not by man's efforts but by God's Hand.

Keri has shared over the years her love for Sea Glass. Oh how she would love this place.

How easy is it to find Sea Glass here? This is a random handful.

One of my favorite things is the Sea glass in the water. It looked like Ice Cubes in a glass in so many hues of green, browns, and clear.

The coastline is so beautiful and although hoodies are required, it was a wonderful day at the beach.

Not everyone comes for the glass, these scuba divers were hunting abalone!
It really is an amazing place. I hope you enjoyed your visit. There are many more places to see so head on over to CanadaGirl's blog and see what everyone else is doing.

I've NEVER been there or heard of glass beach and I'm a California girl. Hmmm.... you must live in that "other" California state - up north. lol. Well, great show and tell. I will be mailing your DVD this week. I have not heard from that one e-mail you mentioned in your message to me. I hope I didn't miss it.

What a lovely beach with all the beautiful sea glass everywhere.
I enjoy the way you relate all these posts back to Jesus. That really is an encouragement to me. : )
Glad Tirzah made it safely and was well cared for too.
The fort model that we made came from Dover Publishing, but we bought it at an used book store, so I'm not sure if they carry them anymore.
Blessings,
Pam

I love the beach.
This looks like a great place.
I'm grateful Tirzah got safely on her plane. The Lord is so good to provide safety and a new friend for her journey. I will continue to pray for her.
Wishing you a blessed Sabbath,
Linda

That's so cool how it's worn so smooth you seem to be able to just walk on it. Seems it would be nice in an aquarium.

Oh, the beach! Thank you for sharing about this lovely beach that was once a dump! Wow, tumbled glass, how pretty. Isn't it neat how the Lord restores things.
Ever since I was a preschooler and my folks took me camping on the California and Oregon Coast, I have wanted to live by the beach. I think I've gotten a lot closer here in Western WA. We lived in North Dakota for a while. At least the beach is close enough to drive to.
Some day, maybe we can go for a trail ride at the beach.
Thank you for your comments on our blogs,
Happy Trails!

Hi Bobbie
It's not a drought here, on the contrary, the farmers are struggling to bring in the crops because it's so wet - I fear the wheat will germinate and be useless.
However, we don't get our water from groundwater, we get it from snow runoff - the snow melts but doesn't soak into the ground because the ground is still frozen, but rather runs down hill and is collected in a big man made basin called a dugout. Beside the dugout is a well, where the water seeps from the dugout into the well. However, the dugout is much deeper than the well, so though there is still water in the dugout, it can no longer seep into the well, and so the well is dry. What we need is more snow next winter - or - a more permanent and workable water solution - such as digging a real well - but that could run us 30-40 G and we just don't have that kind of money, so instead we're looking to buy a trailer in the 5-6G range and haul water. We've been borrowing trucks to haul water these last few years, generous friends and neighbours have loaned us their trucks - but we need to have a permanent solution.
Thanks for praying for us though - it's good to have brothers and sisters who will intercede on your behalf.. Only Adonai can resolve these things... only Adonai can get my husband to make a final decision and move on his decision.

Oh, what a wonderful trip to the beach!! Knowing my children, I would have a glass container filled with chips of beautiful glass they would collect every time they went there.
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely little spot - what a gem it is! :)
Have a peace-filled week!
