Tuesdays with Tirzah

Posted in Tirzah hsp missions

Thank you so much for all your prayers. Tirzah made it home safely on Saturday to a bunch of brothers and sisters that missed her so much! Besides she had presents!!!

It seems my sister has an interesting take on training and it is nothing like what TMI puts you through unless you call debrief, training hee hee! Every time I called they were busy doing some training exercise or another. So here is pictures was Tirzah's week.

This is Great Uncle Charlie and Tirzah in front of the empty tomb. What a perfect place to begin Missions training, for this is what the Mission is all about after all, an empty tomb.

This is Tirzah's team (well half oh it, five were missing). Greatest Aunt Christy is holding the paper that says Team Rwanda next to Tirzah. Behind them is Great Uncle Charlie and I think the young man next to him is the team leader .

This is a display at the new High School building called the Refinery. It looks like a Refinery where they will be refined as silver and gold. I had hoped you could read it. It says in part 'Did you know that in many parts of the world men women and children simply cannot afford shoes? Shoes can prevent disease, provide self-confidence and help children physically develop properly. In March of 2008 the JR high and High school ministries collected 50,000 pairs of shoes. Your Shoes. A global diference. That's Global shoes. It says a lot more but that is the jest of it.  And it has a place for them to continue donating their shoes. The training here? What you take for granted can change a life when done in Jesus' Name.

How you do what you do for the Lord matters. We are called to be good stewards of all God gives us. Okay, so it was the grand opening of the Refinery and getting in before everyone else was a perk because they were already there having their meeting. What we should rejoice about is this building was designed for the 3000-4000 TEENS that will be worshipping and learning God's Word in here on a daily basis!!! Can you imagine??? And this is NOT the JR High Building. That is a different building!

Tirzah's Geography lesson! Africa is across the ocean! God does not care how you get there as long as you get there! Here am I Lord, Send Me Lord!

You may be scared and unsure of your ability to make a difference. Just do it!

I know, This does not LOOK like training. And this is Tirzah's First time in Disneyland EVER. And her brothers and sisters have NEVER been either. And I am so very proud that they were not envious but truly excited that she got to go. But what did Tirzah tell me when I inquired about this training??? The Greatest Aunt Christy says, if you can walk all day in Disneyland , You can walk all over Africa. Turns out Disneyland is endurance training!!!

Pack light! And clean up as you go! Do not leave a traceable carbon foot print!

Really.. hee hee....rofl....I have No IDEA how to spin this!!!!

Lastly it is all a matter of perspective!!!!

Actually her last night there was the beginning of Saddleback's 40 Days of Love with a girls night out filled with worship, great teaching and Tirzah learned something we had tried to keep to ourselves another couple years.... Women NEED chocolate!

So know she is ready to go!

She came home and told us this story....

A man went to Niagara Falls and somehow managed to tie a tightrope acrossed it. Standing there with a wheel barrel has asked if anyone thought he could cross it with the wheel barrel. They all were panicked by the impending doom before them and shouted NO! The man took the wheel barrel and went across. He hollered to the crowd " Do you think I can return? Some shouted affirmitively others were still fearful and said No don't do it! The man once again came across the falls. Three more times he crossed each time the crowd screamed in excited agreement Yes , yes you can!!! On the next trip he noticed a young man who had been there from the beginning shouting encouragement the loudest. He stopped and asked the young man if He really believed he could do it again. The man assured the tightrope walker he believed in hi. The tightrope walker said "Then Get in the wheel barrel and go across with me!"

Tirzah than said "I am in the barrel and I am going Across with God!"

To Get into God's Wheel Barrel is to Trust in Him to guide you safely across. You may not know where it is headed or what He wants you to do on the otherside, all you need to know is GOD is Faithful and He will do it!

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
