Our Sukkot Celebration!
Posted in Grandchildren
I wrote about Sukkot here a little while back, but I did not have the pictures to go with it. So you can read about it here. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/bubbebobbie/603402/
But you can see it here.

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.

If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to.

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways.

Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord

If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom

The lambs of your flocks Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. (side note:Talia is Dancing here :0)

The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity--in the fruit of your womb

You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country

Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.
Hooray! Chag Samech!
We did it!

On Sunday we put on a Sukkot Party in the Park. I watched Talia, but here are our lovely dancers heading off to dance and share the Love of God with our town.

There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Now this is our Friday Show and Tell with Canadagirl. We had a wonderful Sukkot and I have enjoyed sharing it with you. I hope this put a smile in your heart. Head over to Canadagirl's blog for more heart warming Show and Tells.

Oh, Bobbie, what a beautiful tradition that is! Thank you for taking the time to write it all out and explain it to us. The pictures are lovely as well. Isn't it wonderful the passing of traditions from parent to child? It's part of the circle of life, and what a marvelous part it is.
Have a blessed weekend,
Shani

Love the pictures! It is neat to celebrate the Jewish festivals and holidays. We have on different occasions but unfortunately we haven't made it a priority. Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Tammy
P.S. Our blog has the same title - I think I might have visited before and mentioned that...

It is fabulous that you all participate in this tradition. We are blessed to be close friends with a jewish family and also get to join them in many celebrations throughout the year.

Whoo-hoo! That was a wonderful photo-journal. Do you actually 'camp out' in the little dwellings during Sukkot or just use it as a day place? The girls' outfits are lovely. What a witness to your community.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No we do not camp in ours. This one is the congregational one, set up for the community. We do like to eat meals in it and using it to share the stories of the Hebrews not having a roof over their heads for 40 years. The Children learn so much by doing and the love doing this.
It comes down today )0:
But that makes way for Simca Torah! Whoopee!
