Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Kezziah's Bat Mitzvah

Posted in Grandchildren

My Show and tell today is just a tell as I FORGOT my camera and have to wait for my dd to upload her pictures first! But I do so want to tell you about our night last night. Pictures will come, I promise, for she was to lovely to not share! Show and Tell is hosted by Canadagirl. Come and join us on her blog

Last night our second eldest ganddaughter, Kezziah Rose was called to Torah for her Bat Mitzvah! What a vision of grace she was standing before a hundred people who were there to honor her. Kezziah has been given a Gift from the Holy Spirit many of us over look, the gift of service. When the Lord says think of others more highly than yourself, that is our Kezziah. She does not have to be told twice to do something, most often she offers. She does it always ( well almost always) with a great attitude. She also does not like to be the center of attention. To me she is the definition of a Handmaiden of the Lord. For her to stand and read her Torah portion in Hebrew , English and in honor of her Uncle Paul in Arabic, was only by God's grace. Her speech over Exodus 6: 2-6 was filled with the Lordship of Yeshua in her life and what it means to serve Him.

I had the honor of annointing her with oil as the women of the congregation prayed for her. Her mama handed it to me and said "You annoint her it is your calling." It was such an honor to see God's Word fulfilled from generation to generation. At the same time my heart giggled a bit, for when I annointed my daughter, it was as the Psalms commanded " and it ran down the the hems of his garment" and I knew she was recalling that moment as she asked me to annoint her daughter. I mean if the oil is a representation of the Holy Spirit, why would we think " a little dab will do ya" Give them more much more than a touch on their forehead. So I did. Not as I did her mother for her gown was too lovely to get oil on, but enough that she will have to wash her hair today. :0)

When it comes to Biblical traditions, the Blessing of a son or daughter as they grow into adulthood is one of my favorites. It is the moment when they take ownership of their spiritual walk. It is the moment when they are told they are loved outloud. It is the moment when the Holy Spirit shines through them, even if they get hives in the process.

This Bubbe's heart could not be filled with more esteem for this child woman of the Lord. She shone in His glory and brought honor to her God and her family. Kezziah Rose Today she is a woman of Yeshua. Well Done!

Congratulations, Kezziah Rose ! Your Pa and I are so proud to be grandparents of such a woman.

my hubby is in hospital with the flu - this is night #3.. I hope he's home by next monday to pay the bills.. this is a specific item of prayer, I don't know how to pay the bills. My son Myles is also sick, lying on the floor of the bathroom as I type, doesn't want to move.. I think he's going to spend the night there. My baby is behaving very needy.. he's got a wet cough, mouth full of saliva.. he's probably got a mix of mild cold and teething.

I want my husband back, I want my life back

And what a beautiful insight with the oil...a little dab doesn't do...better to be like Peter with the heart that says, "Not just my feet Lord, but all of me!"

Amen!

Blessings,
Anne-Marie

About Me

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. This blog is a homeschooling devotional from a bubbe's point of view or watching the next generation excel where I only succeeded.
