A Bit of Bubbly

Maybe we could try THIS

Posted in Planning

During this five-day break from lessons, I've been thinking about reorganizing our day yet AGAIN (haha), aiming for really good mornings and fun/relaxed afternoons. What if we did the very highest priority things first? And mixed the "warmups" throughout the day?

First block
- Recitation -- Latin prayers, useful memory work, and a poem or passage
- Math
- Composition (Son1) and phonics (Son2)
- Prima Latina

Second block and after lunch
- Italic workbook or copywork
- Piano
- Reading, assigned. History or science or math...
- Morning (noontime??) prayers and Gospel reading
- Art warmup exercise (helps with fine motor control and observation)
- Projects and related play. Timeline work, reading discussion, historical projects a la Lego ziggurats or baking unleavened bread, playing math or Latin or music theory games, a new art lesson, Cub Scouts project, etc.

Hmm. Gonna try that!

Your school looks fun and...well...bubbly! :)

I like your schedule. I keep toying with doing an afternoon block of schooling too.

We too like Italic for handwriting! And congratulations on the four solid weeks of schooling!
