New Goddaughter's Gift!

Almost 9 years ago my first goddaughter was born in December 2000.  I wanted to make a very special gift for her and this was in the time frame before it was a given for me to start crocheting when anyone close to me said the word "baby"!  But that is exactly what I did!

Here's a picture of her with her custom afghan at just a few months old.  Now, this afghan never became a favorite with her since it was made with just "regular" yarn instead of the beloved ultra-soft stuff I use now... so she got an all pink fluffy one a few years later (which I am told is nearing the need for replacement as it is so well-loved! ) But anyway, my oldest daughter, Kaitlyn called this blanket the rainbow sherbet afghan and I even ended up  making one with the same colors for her at that time.  (I think she still has it too).

When my fifth godchild (and fourth godDAUGHTER) was born last month I immediately got started on an afghan for her...  same colors...  fluffy yarn!

So, here it is...  a rainbow sherbet Bundled in Prayer afghan for my new little god daughter, Aspen Cheyenne who joined her four older siblings: Sierra Renee (almost 9), Savannah Alexis (soon to be 7), Logan Scott (4), and Madison Danae (who turned 2 two weeks after Aspen's birth!)

As soon as I have permission from her mommy, I will post pictures of her.  For now, you'll just have to take my word for it that she is adorable and at 1 month old already has a smile that could steal a heart!

Nov. 11, 2008 - Hello there Mrs. Brown...

Posted by rjdjohn316 at 10:56 PM

That's a cute afghan. I love mine. It's on my bed, keeping me warm throughout the cold nights that are coming on now, with the fall weather coming in. It's been pretty chilly here. My room is like ice-land, because one of my windows is broken. But my nice warm and soft afghan is there to keep me all warm and snuggly! TY!

I was wondering if you would be so kind as to give me the prices for the following items, and/or tell me if you can make them.

A hat and scarf, a shawl, a medium sized bag, and a crocheted bonnet for any size. I was also wondering if you could make me an apron for a giveaway. I am planning on hosting a couple of giveaways and thought I would help you get a little bit of promotion. Those are just the things I thought of to giveaway.

If Kate wanted to, she could make something for me to giveaway and I would promote her blog on my site. :) Just wanting to know. Hannah would be welcome too!

love and blessings!
love,
Rachel
