Jan. 25, 2006 - Thanking God for a godly Husband

What a blessing to have a husband who wants to please God.

Yesterday our eldest son was suspended from the high school for a zero tolerance action, in what was an opportunity moment, my husband made the most awesome choice of just loving our son.

In my son's words," I expected that dad would have come home and grounded me until I turned 18, saying that I would be the "personal slave" of mom, cleaning everything from now on."

When he came home, he went to the kitchen as usual and dropped his lunch box and thermos, and then he came to our son and said, "STAND UP", and then he put his arms around him and hugged him, saying," You had a bad day, didn't you?"

That was that, we discussed why what happened happened, and guided him to just continue to be honest in the events that will follow.

Other father's might have come home to add to the horrible day that their son had, but instead he sought out what would our father in heaven do, and did just that.  There are consequences, but they don't all come from us.

An opportunity to learn the right thing to do and why its the right thing to do, hopefully for each of us.  Learning to be a family that seeks God in all that we do.
