Thank God for Adventures!

Posted in My Fathers World

My son was at childrens church on Sunday during the service this past Sunday.  The teacher was looking for a video that she wanted to play but couldn't find it so while she was looking she asked the kids to draw something that they recently learned.  My son drew Christopher Columbus, and John Smith.  He added viking clothes and everything.  He has been so excited about his history this year thanks to My Fathers World Adventures.  It just brought tears to my eyes that what we did here during school time was exciting enough for him to think of that first.  He knows so much more then I ever did about the founding of our great nation!  With the history books, hands on activities, and book basket he is just filled with information.  We are also doing some great read alouds from Sonlight Core 3 at night, that is the American History Core, thanks to a great friend in my coop that loaned them to me for the year because she wasn't using them-what a blessing!  He is so interested in the vikings, explorers and the Indians, right up a boys alley.  I can't tell you how much fun we are having.  I thank God everyday for bringing My Fathers World into our lives, it was truly what I was looking for.  Thank you to my dear friend Dorothy who helped me discover what a great curriculum that it is after sharing all of her notebooks and materials with me, its such a perfect fit for our family.

That is so wonderful Angela! I haven't posted much about Adventures yet but it is great to hear how much your son is enjoying and learning from it. It truly is a great curriculum. What a great idea to include the core 3 books from SL that are about U.S. history.

Angela,
All the pictures look great and I am so happy that MFW is a good fit for your family! I'm looking forward to all the stuff we can do together this year with school projects and outings. With all the people starting MFW we might need to start a new co op... MFW Adventures Co op... did I just say that? Put some tape on my mouth the next time you see me!
Love your blog and really love having you as a friend.
