I'm doing Friday Show N Tell with Candagirl.
We are fortunate to live near the new Creation Museum; we are only 20 minutes away. What a blessing to have a museum that doesn't teach that everything came from the Big Bang! Ken Ham really had a vision for this place, and good for him-he saw it through. He had many obstacles, the area fought him for years but people kept praying and kept sending money and every obstacle that came his way he defeated. Its the only museum like it in the world and people are coming from everywhere to see it. I am so amazed that he never quit; he never gave up what he felt God was calling him to do-he kept going even when everything and everyone seemed against him. On the opening day they had protesters outside and they have had to spend money on extra security but it hasn't stopped him. He has went on knowing and believing God wanted him to do it. And now, the finished product, he has a beautiful museum that is based on God's Creation, he has seen many miracles and I'm sure has a greater faith then before. Wow, what God can do even in situations that seem hopeless! I remember a time they said Ken Ham would never get the land and the permission to go on but God said different and when He provides the way, nothing can stop it!
What a wonderful lesson to us that we need to do what God calls us to do, we should never give up even when it’s hard. Sometimes homeschooling can be like that, you can feel lonely in it, you feel like your kids might be better off somewhere else, maybe you feel your not getting through to them some days, it can be discouraging and hard but if God has called you to do it you can carry on and he will see you through it, and in the end you will have the finished product and it will be quite amazing. It won't matter that people said you couldn't do it or shouldn't have done it, it won't matter that there were times it seemed hopeless and impossible and those obstacles that seemed so big then will seem like nothing. Hopefully we will see many miracles in it and our faith will grow, I know with my kids I have already seen amazing rewards because of homeschooling them-I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Some Christians may not agree with all of Ken Ham’s ideas but even if not there is so much there that’s biblical fact. You can walk through the Garden of Eden, see Noah's Ark being built, enjoy a beautiful planetarium that shows Gods brilliance, stroll the beautiful grounds and have a picnic and of course they have the dinosaur room that Ken Ham is famous for. We went with our church this past weekend and had a wonderful time; we have family passes and hope to enjoy it a lot throughout the year. Here are some pictures from our trip. I may post more in show n tells and wordless Wednesdays.
