Friday Show N Tell!

Posted in Show N Tell

Come join Canadagirl for more Show n Tells.

We love this plate, I had always wanted one for our family and a good friend at church bought it for me at Christmas a couple of years ago.  We had gotten away from using it but started again lately, my kids LOVE it.   A child who does an exceptional thing during the day-really good at sharing, helping with clean up especially after not being ask to, their birthdays or having a personal day of accomplish (like getting the next belt in taekwondo)  are all great reasons for the child to get the plate at dinner time.  You wouldn't believe how much they want this, even my 9 year old feels so special when he gets it-its amazing how something so small can mean so much to our kids.  You can get these at Christian Book Stores, I have even seen some parents who make one with their kids.  Just get a colored plate and decorate it.

We used to have one of those plates, but it got broken. I loved it because it made the kids feel so special.

I have a similar plate that I kind of "inherited" and keep forgetting to use it - even for birthdays!! My bad. Thanks for the reminder!

That is neat. A simple but effective way to honor good character.
Say, how did you get your signature to have that cute little flower with it?

Oh we use to do this too! This reminds me to do it again! We just use a paper plate and decorate it. How cool to have a real plate.

We have a birthday plate. It does make them feel special-maybe we should put together another one just for a day it looks like someone needs to feel a little special.
