Our Schedule!

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/hsbawards/Homeschool%20Memoirs/routines.png

This week please post what your planned homeschool routine is.

8:00  We have breakfast and clean up.  Usually a very quick breakfast- toast, peanut butter toast, pop tart, granola, fruit, bagel  (something along that lines)  We usually save the big breakfast for weekends, once in a while we make an exception.

830  I check email and we have grooming.  (dress, brush hair and teeth, shower(sometimes morning, sometimes night before)

9:00- school usually starts promptly.  Now I'm at the stage where I don't have babies or toddlers anymore, this was tougher for me when I did.  My 4th grader does Math, handwriting, Wordly Wise(somedays) and reading  (basically his independent work)  while I work with my first grader and preschooler.  We do handwriting, reading lessons, bible, and math (very beginning math, I don't do this with my preschooler yet)  I usually let her join in when she wants and just supply things for her to do when she goes off on her own.  I like to work with her in the evening with sonlight pre-k readers and other fun things a couple of days a week.  She does like to join us a lot though and when she does, she practices letters, phonic sounds, and plays with puzzles, etc.  She is 4.

10:00  I usually start to work with my oldest.  My first grader finishes up drawing projects, writing letters ,and  and then he goes off for independent play.  We do Bible, geography/history, science readings, Language Arts, and music.

11:30-12  We eat lunch and have clean up

12- My oldest and I finish up

1230- We do our chores (all of us)

1:00 We all have some free time

2:00 We have a snack and I work on my Mom planner list (If I haven't finished earlier and I usually have not)

3:00 We do book basket.  This is where the timer is set for 15 minutes and we look through books that I have put in a basket from suggestions from My Fathers World.  Each week we put in books that are about subjects we are studying.  Example.  My first grader is learning about things underground this week so we have books on worms, ants, etc.  Right up a Boys Alley, huh?  My oldest is learning about maps and the world so we have atlases, maps, books like Children of the World, and different culture books.  You would be amazed how much they pick up and learn this way.  We LOVE Book Basket time here!        Then we have quiet time until 5

4pm  While quiet time is going on there is no radio, tv, electronic anything.  I usually use this time to work on bills, emails, check blogs, etc.

430-Dinner prep

5:00- everyone is up and usually Dad is home.  We make and eat and clean up dinner

On Tuesdays I go grocery shopping with my mom and my husband takes kids to Twkwon. practice

On Wednesday we do our science, and other projects we want to make together because we are all home!

On Thursday we have dinner with my Father in law and husband's brothers family.  We also have piano lessons in the morning so school is in the afternoon and we cut out two subjects.

We do coop on Friday-no school at home.  In the evening Friday we either have family night or a friend night, we rotate these.  So one Friday is Family night where we do something special, next I go do something with a girlfriend and the next my husband does somethng with a friend.  We have done this since we have gotten married.  My friends are so funny, they are always asking Who's friend night is it?

Saturday-Family Day!  Sometimes working together on our home, yard, etc and sometimes going out to something fun!

Sunday-church and rest!

We do our read alouds with our living books before bedtime.  The kids always get excited about this!

Thats in in a nutshell, of course sometimes our days go smoothly and sometimes not!  We have days where kids wake up with fevers or we are having character issues or any other interuuption and we have to put all on hold

I really like this priority list and its what I try to follow.

God first

Character Second

Academics Third

Its more important that I have God loving obedient children then they know their Math facts!

Can't wait to see all of your schedules!

We love book basket as well. Your agenda looks great. I wish we could finish up everything in the AM but is hard with a toddler still. Are you doing ECC this year? We are still working on Adv. slowly but surely. We've started MFW K and just love it. Thanks for sharing your experiences with me about it last year. Your school room looks great too.
