Oct. 6, 2009 You got me and Jesus!
Hey y'all! Remember at thanksgiving when we sang the 'happy' song? And you wanted to hear it? HERE IT IS!
Me and Jesus by Stellar Kart: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1tq9a_stellar-kart-me-and-jesus_music
For those who don't know: Who has little siblings/children that get mad and say 'EVERYONE HATES ME!!!" Ya? Well, every time someone in our family does that, me and Sloan burst into song 'SOMEONE LOVES YOU EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T THINK SO, DON'T YOU KNOW? YOU GOT ME AND JESUS!!"
Sometimes we do the other parts, but mostly we just stick to the chorus....

I don't know what to do! I kind of want to switch my whole blog over to my blogsot, but I still want to have this blog because of all my friends on here and all. Oh what oh what should I do?!
Blogspot is easier because I could do pics in with the words, but HSB is better because it doesn't have as many weird people on it... :)
Oh, and I want all my entries over there if I switch, but I don't know how to import the whole thing.... does anyone know how to do that?

Oct. 5, 2009 Thanksgiving!!!!!!! And a new blog!
Well, after a freezing walk to remember, we went in the J's new hot tub! Then out to the barn. We played 'catch the chick' where we caught all 9 little chicks, then released and caught and realeased some more. After pizza and cookies, we went back out and tried a new game. SUMO HAY!! Two people battle to the death on a heap of hay. Yup, that's what we cousins do!
In the morning we went out to the barn for more sumo hay, then came in for breakfast, then more sumo hay, then hot tub. After hot tubbing, we decided to calm down a bit with a card game. Ever played cheat? You should. Its awesome! Although our intent was to calm down, it didn't work that way and we got into many laughing fits, most of which featured HAVEN!
After cheat we had turkey and then, all to soon, it was time to go.
Sorry brittany and brianna for not bringing your books! I'll remember next time!
Oh, about the new blog. HSB is great, but not if you like to post a ton of pics. (Sheepish grin) So I opened up a new blog where I can post pics to my hearts content. I'll still keep this blog for words, but pics go over here.
So there you have it. Thanks giving in a blog entry. (or two, if you count the pix!)

Sep. 21, 2009 Who's Ready To Jam?!
I don't hear any cheering? Oh, where did everyone go? Here you come! You were running to get your fiddles out! I'm glad you are excited!!! I am too!
When I was at Granny and Gramps' house, we put together a song list that we thought most of you would know. (or at least be able to figure them out!) If we learned it at fiddle camp with Erin, I will put a * beside it. Ready to get started? Now I hear you!
Song Key Difficulty
Rubber Dolly (With varitions if you know them) * D Easy
Tennesee waltz * D Easy
Faded Love * G In between
Soldiers Joy* D Two variations
Chinese Break down * D A bit harder
St. Anne's Reel D More difficult
Boil them Cabbage Down * I think it changes, but you know how it goes! Easy
Amazing Grace I forget what key, but do you J's or Fehlers do it in a certain key already?
I want ot teach you a song I learned first hand from Gord Stobbe too, called SACHA. It has a dance for the younger kids. :)
If you have any other fiddle camp faves, post them in a comment. (like pelican reel-whiskey before breakfast etc...)
That doesn't sound too hard right? Granny and Gramps are practicing them too, that is why I changed the key of Faded Love, to make it easier for Gramps to sing. (I originally learned it in D, I don't know about the rest of you)
We are all going to Auntie Jess' the weekend of the 3rd of October, so practice really hard until then, so we can all play together! Then just imagine how awesome christmas will be when we add G and G to our band!! Oh, ya, I forgot, practice between the 3rd and Chrstmas too! |

Sep. 15, 2009 The rest of my trip pt.3- The last day- I promise this is the last one!
Ok, so AO and GG came for supper...
After AO and GG left me and Granny went CRAY-ZAY!!! First, we went to the $ store to buy some *supplies*. I had brought this half finished book that I wanted to finish, and we hadn't even started!!! Y'know those little cloth baby activity books? One page will say, "I can braid!" then it has three strings that you braid? And stuff like that. Any way, A friend of ours gave us a big huge box of fabric once, and that was in it. The pages it already had were, "Button my flowers!" Where you button the flowers to the stem, "I can count up to ten" where there were 10 peices of red ribbon, the first one with one botton sewed on, the next with two, then three... you get the idea. That one was only half finished, so we sewed on half on the red ribbon and most of the buttons,"I can braid", and one with a bunny wearing a bow tie you had to tie up. Me and Granny added eyes for the bunny, whiskers for the bunny and a tail.
Then me and Granny got creative and added some pages of our own! "Zip the tent" We made a tent out of an old cloth then added a zipper so that it could open and close, we also sewed on some green fabric to look like trees. "weave a quilt" Where Granny cut up strips of different colours of felt and sewed them to the page then you fold them over and under, over and under etc...And the last one we made, (my fave!) a velcro X's and O's game! We have six orange felt circles, attached to tiny peices of velcro, and 6 blue felt squares attached to velcro. Then a 3 by 3 grid with a peice of velcro in each spot. (we added extra velcro so we could have extra peices...) After that, we surged the whole thing together and we were done!
The next day, we woke up and played music until it was time to go. We went to 'Mineral world' to buy some little starfish for the kids, then out to a Greek place for lunch..... MMMMMMM. Me wuv gweek food... After lunch we went to the airport.
Then I came home.

Sep. 14, 2009 The rest of my trip pt.2: My Second Day At Wallace Island And More
We woke up at around 8am, not bad, I thought we would we getting up at the crack of dawn, but, nope! Granny had brought along some pancake mix and maple syrup, so we had pancakes for breakfast! After breakfast, Granny wanted to tidy up the boat so me and Gramps went for a short walk, when we came back, we all went for another walk, then we headed home. We stopped at Ganges (is that spelled right Granny?) on Saltspring Island for chicken strips and french fries.
When we got back to Sidney, we were going to go to the market, but apparently it doesn't happen in September. (Granny said she saw a sign that said it went until mid sept. weird...) So we walked around in Sidney for a while, and found a black berry bush! We ate a couple berries, then went back to Grannies.
We had some supper then went in the hotub. When we got out of the hot tub we played music for a while before bed.
Then next day, we got up at when we felt like it. (I loved it.. The only day in my whole trip I woke up before 9 was on the boat) We had a bit of breakfast then went down town to do some shopping. Granny wanted to buy me a birthday present, so we looked at Gap first. I found a pair of brown pants that I liked, but we decided not to buy anything until we looked around a bit more. Then we went to anonther store and I found a purse I REALLY liked. (Mom has one kind of like it that she let me borrow, and I knew I wanted one like that. This one was almost like it, so I got it.)
After this, we were feeling hungry, so Gramps treated us to Earls. I got Jerra Chicken Curry, Gramps got chicken strips and fries and Granny got Chilli Chicken, but we all shared.
After lunch we went back to the Gap to buy the pants because I didn't find anything I liked more. Gramps said that I needed a top to get with my pants so I picked out a white sweater.
AO and GG came over for Supper that night! Gramps made steak and mushrooms. Mmmmmmmm. Granny added salad and homemade deepfried onion rings!!!! double Mmmmmmmm.
I will write about the rest of the evening and my last day tomorrow, and pics I promise will come soon!!!

Sep. 13, 2009 The rest of my trip pt. 1: My first day at Wallace Island
So, where did I leave off? Oh, right, we were about to head out on the boat for a campout.
So, we launched the boat at Sidney, it was a bit foggy and kind of rainy but the forcast said it would warm up in the afternoon. About 25min into our trip we saw something spalshing in the water, so we went to see what it was, Granny thought maybe it was a dolls porpoise. As we got closer we saw that it was a sea lion (not your average sea lion, this thing was HUGE granny thinks it was a northern seal lion as they tend to be bigger than othe sea lions). As we got even closer, we noticed something in its mouth, it was salmon fishing! It would go under and catch a salmon, then come to the top and throw it around before eating it. The sea gulls were everywere just waiting for him to drop some and when he did, they would all swoop down and fight over it. finally when it was done its lunch it swam away, but it was cool!!
For the rest of our journey to the island we didn't see any other wild life except birds. When we got to Wallace Island, Granny decided to make some pasta and meat sauce, so she stayed at the boat while me and Gramps went and looked around a bit. When we got back we ate lunch then headed out to explore the north tip of the island. It took us about 3 hours I think. There were a MILLION little coves to explore, and we explored every one of them. We got back and me and Granny made signs to represent the 'mamalena' at a little cottage up on the island where lots of people made signs and hung them. I made mine out of drift wood and markers, Granny decided to go extreme and carve hers out of sand stone, we didn't have anything sharp on the boat except a screw driver, but that didn't stop Granny! When we were done, we went up to the cottage and found homes for our signs. Gramps pulled me to and from the cottage in a rickshaw that we found there! Then we went to the boat and had soup and cheese buns for supper.
When we first docked, someone had come to warn us about racoons. It just so happens that we met the reason racoons like to come to the boats, there was a lady who left out a big plate of dog food, bugers, hot dogs, cinnamon buns and stuff for the 'coons! Anyway, she said that they came at different times during the night, but the first ones came at nine, so we stayed up to see the first ones.
Gramps said that at 3 AM he heard thumping above him, he turned to Granny and said, 'do you think there is one up on the roof?' And Granny said, 'look!' And there were THREE racoons on the top window of the boat peeking in at them! (I didn't see them, I was asleep!)
That's all for now, Pt. 2 comin' soon!

I landed in Victoria at 1pm, but it felt like 2pm because I changed time zones. Granny and Gramps were waiting for me as soon as I got off the plane. First, we went to Sidney and went out for lunch. I couln't decide what to get, so between the three of us we got 4 meals and split them! It was a little Swiss place, and it was cold oinside so me and Granny wore little red swiss blankets to keep us warm :)
Then we walked around Sidney and went to a new aquarium there!! We also went to some thrift stores, but I couldn't find any slippers for Gage... Sorry mom! (there were some really cutie ones, but they would have been too small...) Then, since I wasn't very hungry after our late lunch, we got mint chocolate ice cream cones!! After that G and G had a boating course, so I went to Emma's house for a couple hours. It was really cold, but the pool was kind of warm, so we went swimming!!! Miles was quit impressed with my under water camera, so I took a picture of him swimming under water and he thought it was pretty cool. After that we were cold and tired so we got changed and played TABOO upstairs. Me and Emma were on a team with Isabel and Aaron and Emma's dad were on a team with Miles. Half way through the game Isabel and Miles had to go to bed, so we finished of just the four of us.
When we got back to Granny's, we had cheese buns with tomato and hot chocolate for a snack, then I went to bed.
This morning, we are about to head out on the boat. If I'm lucky, we will stay over night!!!!!

P.S. Sorry I didn't call last night, but I was having so much fun at Emma's that by the time I remembered it was too late. |

1 Week till i go to Granny's! (And Grampsie's, of course!) I'm kind of nervous about going on the plane by my self, I've only been on a plane once that I remember, and that was when I was 5!
The day I get there, G & G hav a boat coarse they have to go to, so they will drop me off at my cousin Emma's house for a couple hours, then the next day, hopefully, we will go on the boat, and if I'm lucky, we will stay on the boat over night!

Aug. 30, 2009 Best birthday ever!
I'm not big on birthday parties and have probably only had two or three of my own over my (almost) 13 years, but yesterday my friend B invited me to her party and it was SO FUN!
Friday night, me and her other friend, A, slept over. As small as I am on birthday parties, I like sleepovers even less. I need sleep, and a sleepover isn't the place to get it. But I got a full 8.5 hours of sleep. We didn't get up till 11-11:30. I was still tired, but oh well.
Her party started the next day in early afternoon. Besides me, her and A, there were 4 people. First, we were divided into two teams. Pink and Orange, I was pink. Then we each got a blank canvas apron to decorate with markers. Oh, and person got a bandana, orange team got orange ones pink got pink ones. Each team was assigned a driver, a folder, 20$, pen and a calculater.
Now, I bet you are wondering what we did, but that'll come in a minute.
In our folder was 6 recipies. We had to decide on 1 appitizer, one main dish and one dessert. We had to make a shopping list of all the ingredients we needed, then get our driver to take us to the store where we had to buy it. And it had to be under 20$. If it was $20.01, we had to cut something out to make it under the 20$ mark. We bought everything we needed, with 37 cents to spare. Then we drove home a started cooking. It was kind of fun to be on a strict budget. We had to really look at the different brand name prices, and ended up having to buy margerine instead of butter because marg. was 75 cents cheaper and the butter put us over our budget.
It was an Iron chef contest. AWESOME!
I pretty much was in charge of the appitizer. Savory 3 cheese dip, served with nacho's and red peppers.
B and K took over the main course, pasta with a garlic and herb sauce. 'A' did the desert. Pinwheel cookies with chocolate dipping sauce. Each plate had three cookies, which were placed to look like eyes and nose, then the dipping sause was drizzled into a smile and eyebrows. (We got a perfect score for desert creativity!) The desert smiley was my idea!
There were three judges. They judged each dish out of 5, according to creativity, presentation and taste.
Oh, and there was one more rule. Everything had to contain some sort of cheese. It could be cream cheese, cheddar, parmesan, as long as it was cheese.
My team won by 5 points!
Then we had pizza and cupcakes. And we got chocolate bars.

Who likes my new song? (It's at the bottom!) I have probably listened to it 40 times since, umm, yesterday. :) But then when I went on playlist.com they didn't have the one I wanted, so it had to be a remix. It is so funny, me and mom listened to all the versions they had hoping one would be the one, and finnaly, Gage started saying, 'ooooooh!' in the cheeky way the person does at the begining of the song! haha. I didn't know the words, 'punk' 'superstar' and 'rocker' described a classical composer... weird...

Aug. 27, 2009 By The Way...
I know if the baby is a boy or girl! But I'm not telling. :)
Please guess though! I want to see who's right or wrong! And DON'T say, 'because you won't tell me, I'm not telling you what I think.' because if you do that, then if 5 months when I tell, you'll say, 'I KNEW it!' even if you didn't. Now don't say, 'Oh, thanks for the idea!' cuz that would just be mean. :D

... baby boys do you know who can pick their nose with (what is known in our house as) their 'daddy' toe? Not many you say? Well then, does that mean MY baby boy is special? And, out of the baby boys you know that can pick their nose with their 'daddy' toe, how many of them can lick off their toe afterwords? Really? None? Well, MY baby brother must be exceptionally talented then! Because he can pick his nose with his 'daddy' toe, and he can also lick it off when he is done.
Yay for Gage! (umm, not that I ENCOURAGE this behaviour at all, I just, umm, never mind. And my Mom will probably never let him do it again!)

...for not writing in awhile! We didn't get home from auntie Jess' till late. (Ok, it was 5, but we were so tired it felt like late!)
On Thursday, after we got home from swimming at brittany's, I went horse back riding with uncle Curt and Ellie!!! Then, on Friday before we left, uncle Curt took me riding again! I think I liked the Friday morning ride better. We went a little bit faster, it didn't take me as much time to get used to it because I had just practiced the day before and it was kind of hot on Thursday, but it was nice and cool on Friday.
GUESS WHAT??? My mom is having an ultrasound on in two days! Yippeeeeee!
GUESS WHAT??? We started school today! Yippeeeeee!
GUESS WHAT?? We actually started school last week (we only did 2 math lessons) Yippeeeee!
GUESS WHAT?? I LOVE SCHOOL!! YIPPEEE!
Sorry, I just HAD to do that!

Today in the morning, Mollen, Charter, Peyton and Sloan, along with Ellie, Robin, Carrie and Darren went to VBS. (it is only half days). I stayed home with Sadie, Gage and Wes. Me and Sadie made cookies, and we went to the barn and played with the kitten. When the kids got home, we had maccaroni and garlic buns for lunch, then we went for a quad ride and picked berries. (Saskatoons!) And of course, ate me and Sadies cookies!
Then, (this was probably the most exciting part of the day) I met some HSB friends in real life! I met brittany11, briblog, carlycats and Tia9. It was fun! (they are Darren, Carrie, Robin and Ellie's cousins, so they just came over for a visit)

Today mom took me, Sloan and Peyton shopping! I got 1 pair of jeans and a purple and gray hoodie. Sloan and Peyton got way more. (Seriously, I just had bad luck today. Last time we went, I had a hard time picking out only two pairs of jeans to take home because their were so many pairs I liked! Today, I just had to pick the one I liked best out of 10 pairs I didn't really like, because I don't have any other pants. Now that I'm home though, I like these!)
My hoodie is super soft on the inside, and it has a big pocket in the front.
Today me and Sloan went to the church to practice because our childrens pastor wanted us to do a skit for Sunday. We told her that (in my mom's family) we are well known for our little skits we do, and she said that she could tell! She said that we did an 'amazing' job, and she wants us to help her with lots more skits in te fall.

Aug. 11, 2009 When my brother...
When my brother comes up to you, holding a cup, it means, 'Im thirsty. Would you be so kind as to fill this cup with water?'
When my brother stands at the top of the stairs yelling down, 'Noonie! Dai-bo!' It means that he need's Sloan (nicknamed 'poo girl') To come and change his daiper.
When my brother wants me, he calls, 'RORO!'
When my brother wants Charter, Mollen or Peyton he will say, "Dar Dar" Or 'mo mo' Or "peypey!"
When my brother calls, "MAAAM!" It means, well, I'm sure you can guess this one. (If you guessed it means 'I want mom' you guessed correct.)
When he says, 'daaaaaddy' It means that dad came in, and Gage is excited to see him.
When my brother looks at you expectantly, and says, 'moo'. It means that he want's more of what ever he was eating. Usually cereal or fruit.
If my brother points at your buttons (Or whatever, buttons is just a good example!) And clenches and unclenches his fists (That's how he says please) he would like you to give him your buttons.
When my brother reaches up to you and says, 'Up?' he wants you to lift him up.
Now you understand a little bit about the way my brother communicates.

Aug. 9, 2009 About those results...
When the results came out, Peyton had won, Charter came in middle of his group, Sloan was 2nd last and my reslults were nowhere to be found! We looked through every group, boys and girls (even 7-boys!) nothing. Then we looked for my race #, thinking maybe they messed up my name. Still nothing. Our friends at church were also in the race, their daughter was first out of the water, and nobody passed her for the whole race, but online it said that she got 7th place. So who knows? How do we know if any of the results were real or not? Obviously they screwed up with something, or else my time would be on the website!
Cairo
P.S. and my mom is 15 weeks!
P.P.S. My mom is going to email the Kids Of Steel people and ask them about my time. And you know how I said my run was 2.6k? Well it was actually 3 whole k! |

Today was the Triathlon!!! We got up at 5:40am to go to the lake. Gamp and Dad took me and the other racing kids, then Gam and Mom came later with Molls and Gage. First the 16-19 year olds started. Then the 14-15 year olds started. Then me. Then Sloan. Then Peyton. Peyton finished first. Then me. Then Sloan. After all of us finished, Gamp came running to tell us that Charter wasn't in the water yet! So We all ran (Or as close to running as we could after swimming, biking and running our whole race!) And watched Charter. His race is super short and simple, he finished in (I'm guessing) 10 minutes.
The results aren't in yet, but I'll post them tomorrow or Monday!

P.S. Today is Dad's birthday!
