Sep. 15, 2009 The rest of my trip pt.3- The last day- I promise this is the last one!
Ok, so AO and GG came for supper...
After AO and GG left me and Granny went CRAY-ZAY!!! First, we went to the $ store to buy some *supplies*. I had brought this half finished book that I wanted to finish, and we hadn't even started!!! Y'know those little cloth baby activity books? One page will say, "I can braid!" then it has three strings that you braid? And stuff like that. Any way, A friend of ours gave us a big huge box of fabric once, and that was in it. The pages it already had were, "Button my flowers!" Where you button the flowers to the stem, "I can count up to ten" where there were 10 peices of red ribbon, the first one with one botton sewed on, the next with two, then three... you get the idea. That one was only half finished, so we sewed on half on the red ribbon and most of the buttons,"I can braid", and one with a bunny wearing a bow tie you had to tie up. Me and Granny added eyes for the bunny, whiskers for the bunny and a tail.
Then me and Granny got creative and added some pages of our own! "Zip the tent" We made a tent out of an old cloth then added a zipper so that it could open and close, we also sewed on some green fabric to look like trees. "weave a quilt" Where Granny cut up strips of different colours of felt and sewed them to the page then you fold them over and under, over and under etc...And the last one we made, (my fave!) a velcro X's and O's game! We have six orange felt circles, attached to tiny peices of velcro, and 6 blue felt squares attached to velcro. Then a 3 by 3 grid with a peice of velcro in each spot. (we added extra velcro so we could have extra peices...) After that, we surged the whole thing together and we were done!
The next day, we woke up and played music until it was time to go. We went to 'Mineral world' to buy some little starfish for the kids, then out to a Greek place for lunch..... MMMMMMM. Me wuv gweek food... After lunch we went to the airport.
Then I came home.

Sep. 14, 2009 The rest of my trip pt.2: My Second Day At Wallace Island And More
We woke up at around 8am, not bad, I thought we would we getting up at the crack of dawn, but, nope! Granny had brought along some pancake mix and maple syrup, so we had pancakes for breakfast! After breakfast, Granny wanted to tidy up the boat so me and Gramps went for a short walk, when we came back, we all went for another walk, then we headed home. We stopped at Ganges (is that spelled right Granny?) on Saltspring Island for chicken strips and french fries.
When we got back to Sidney, we were going to go to the market, but apparently it doesn't happen in September. (Granny said she saw a sign that said it went until mid sept. weird...) So we walked around in Sidney for a while, and found a black berry bush! We ate a couple berries, then went back to Grannies.
We had some supper then went in the hotub. When we got out of the hot tub we played music for a while before bed.
Then next day, we got up at when we felt like it. (I loved it.. The only day in my whole trip I woke up before 9 was on the boat) We had a bit of breakfast then went down town to do some shopping. Granny wanted to buy me a birthday present, so we looked at Gap first. I found a pair of brown pants that I liked, but we decided not to buy anything until we looked around a bit more. Then we went to anonther store and I found a purse I REALLY liked. (Mom has one kind of like it that she let me borrow, and I knew I wanted one like that. This one was almost like it, so I got it.)
After this, we were feeling hungry, so Gramps treated us to Earls. I got Jerra Chicken Curry, Gramps got chicken strips and fries and Granny got Chilli Chicken, but we all shared.
After lunch we went back to the Gap to buy the pants because I didn't find anything I liked more. Gramps said that I needed a top to get with my pants so I picked out a white sweater.
AO and GG came over for Supper that night! Gramps made steak and mushrooms. Mmmmmmmm. Granny added salad and homemade deepfried onion rings!!!! double Mmmmmmmm.
I will write about the rest of the evening and my last day tomorrow, and pics I promise will come soon!!!

Sep. 13, 2009 The rest of my trip pt. 1: My first day at Wallace Island
So, where did I leave off? Oh, right, we were about to head out on the boat for a campout.
So, we launched the boat at Sidney, it was a bit foggy and kind of rainy but the forcast said it would warm up in the afternoon. About 25min into our trip we saw something spalshing in the water, so we went to see what it was, Granny thought maybe it was a dolls porpoise. As we got closer we saw that it was a sea lion (not your average sea lion, this thing was HUGE granny thinks it was a northern seal lion as they tend to be bigger than othe sea lions). As we got even closer, we noticed something in its mouth, it was salmon fishing! It would go under and catch a salmon, then come to the top and throw it around before eating it. The sea gulls were everywere just waiting for him to drop some and when he did, they would all swoop down and fight over it. finally when it was done its lunch it swam away, but it was cool!!
For the rest of our journey to the island we didn't see any other wild life except birds. When we got to Wallace Island, Granny decided to make some pasta and meat sauce, so she stayed at the boat while me and Gramps went and looked around a bit. When we got back we ate lunch then headed out to explore the north tip of the island. It took us about 3 hours I think. There were a MILLION little coves to explore, and we explored every one of them. We got back and me and Granny made signs to represent the 'mamalena' at a little cottage up on the island where lots of people made signs and hung them. I made mine out of drift wood and markers, Granny decided to go extreme and carve hers out of sand stone, we didn't have anything sharp on the boat except a screw driver, but that didn't stop Granny! When we were done, we went up to the cottage and found homes for our signs. Gramps pulled me to and from the cottage in a rickshaw that we found there! Then we went to the boat and had soup and cheese buns for supper.
When we first docked, someone had come to warn us about racoons. It just so happens that we met the reason racoons like to come to the boats, there was a lady who left out a big plate of dog food, bugers, hot dogs, cinnamon buns and stuff for the 'coons! Anyway, she said that they came at different times during the night, but the first ones came at nine, so we stayed up to see the first ones.
Gramps said that at 3 AM he heard thumping above him, he turned to Granny and said, 'do you think there is one up on the roof?' And Granny said, 'look!' And there were THREE racoons on the top window of the boat peeking in at them! (I didn't see them, I was asleep!)
That's all for now, Pt. 2 comin' soon!

I landed in Victoria at 1pm, but it felt like 2pm because I changed time zones. Granny and Gramps were waiting for me as soon as I got off the plane. First, we went to Sidney and went out for lunch. I couln't decide what to get, so between the three of us we got 4 meals and split them! It was a little Swiss place, and it was cold oinside so me and Granny wore little red swiss blankets to keep us warm :)
Then we walked around Sidney and went to a new aquarium there!! We also went to some thrift stores, but I couldn't find any slippers for Gage... Sorry mom! (there were some really cutie ones, but they would have been too small...) Then, since I wasn't very hungry after our late lunch, we got mint chocolate ice cream cones!! After that G and G had a boating course, so I went to Emma's house for a couple hours. It was really cold, but the pool was kind of warm, so we went swimming!!! Miles was quit impressed with my under water camera, so I took a picture of him swimming under water and he thought it was pretty cool. After that we were cold and tired so we got changed and played TABOO upstairs. Me and Emma were on a team with Isabel and Aaron and Emma's dad were on a team with Miles. Half way through the game Isabel and Miles had to go to bed, so we finished of just the four of us.
When we got back to Granny's, we had cheese buns with tomato and hot chocolate for a snack, then I went to bed.
This morning, we are about to head out on the boat. If I'm lucky, we will stay over night!!!!!
Cairo
P.S. Sorry I didn't call last night, but I was having so much fun at Emma's that by the time I remembered it was too late. |

1 Week till i go to Granny's! (And Grampsie's, of course!) I'm kind of nervous about going on the plane by my self, I've only been on a plane once that I remember, and that was when I was 5!
The day I get there, G & G hav a boat coarse they have to go to, so they will drop me off at my cousin Emma's house for a couple hours, then the next day, hopefully, we will go on the boat, and if I'm lucky, we will stay on the boat over night!

...for not writing in awhile! We didn't get home from auntie Jess' till late. (Ok, it was 5, but we were so tired it felt like late!)
On Thursday, after we got home from swimming at brittany's, I went horse back riding with uncle Curt and Ellie!!! Then, on Friday before we left, uncle Curt took me riding again! I think I liked the Friday morning ride better. We went a little bit faster, it didn't take me as much time to get used to it because I had just practiced the day before and it was kind of hot on Thursday, but it was nice and cool on Friday.
GUESS WHAT??? My mom is having an ultrasound on in two days! Yippeeeeee!
GUESS WHAT??? We started school today! Yippeeeeee!
GUESS WHAT?? We actually started school last week (we only did 2 math lessons) Yippeeeee!
GUESS WHAT?? I LOVE SCHOOL!! YIPPEEE!

Today in the morning, Mollen, Charter, Peyton and Sloan, along with Ellie, Robin, Carrie and Darren went to VBS. (it is only half days). I stayed home with Sadie, Gage and Wes. Me and Sadie made cookies, and we went to the barn and played with the kitten. When the kids got home, we had maccaroni and garlic buns for lunch, then we went for a quad ride and picked berries. (Saskatoons!) And of course, ate me and Sadies cookies!
Then, (this was probably the most exciting part of the day) I met some HSB friends in real life! I met brittany11, briblog, carlycats and Tia9. It was fun! (they are Darren, Carrie, Robin and Ellie's cousins, so they just came over for a visit)

THEN, ON WEDNESDAY..... We went to Thetis lake, me, mom and Gramps ran around the lower lake, then we played around and went kayaking, me and peyton saw turtles!! We also went out on the 'mamlena' in the evening, as it was Canada day, and watched fireworks. On the boat. In the harbour. The fireworks were right over us, and we were in the harbour. So cool!
On Thursday, we had a picnic with dads work friend and me mom and gramps went on a long walk.
On Friday, we ran around thetis again.
And on Saturday, we went to Gam's, spent the night, and drove home. Now, here we are!
Cairo
P.S. Don't ask about my Triathlon training this week. It's hard on holidays! I did two 2.5 k runs and a long walk, that's about it... ALL WEEK! |

We got back from BC yesterday!
On Friday, we were planning to head out by 3. But Dad came home at 10:30 and asked, "Who want's to just go now?" So we were on the road by 11:30. We got to Kelowna at 6:30, and went to Subway then to Gam's. In the morning, Dad went golfing, and when he got home, Baylie, Ethan, Gabi, Emma, Morgynn and Gracie came over (of course with their parents) For a small birthday party for Peyton. Then we headed out again to Vancouver, caught the 4 O'clock ferry, and went to Gran and Gramps' just in time for supper!
The next day, we went to church and in the afternoon, Granny had a party for a) Auntie Val's B-day and b) peyton's B-day.
On Monday, we spent the day on the 'Mamalena'. FUNEST THING! We stayed out all day, and Gramps bought fish and chips for lunch!
On Tuesday, we went to the spit! FU-UN. We all had a turn on Grannies hobbie. That is really fun! It is like a little kayak, but you peddle it with your feet!
OK, are you tired of my adventures yet? Oh, fine, I'll leave the rest for tomorrow, come and check!

P.S. I made the senior group in BVF!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought for sure I'd be in the same group for this year, and probably even next year! |

Dec. 30, 2008 Christmas!!!
We got to gam and Gamps on Tuesday, the day before Christmas eve, (I like to call it Christmas eve eve :) We celebrated Christmas eve then though, because our cousins had a differant Christmas party they had to go to on Christmas eve. Its our tradition to have chinese food on christmas eve, so we ordered chinese, then, we took gams big book of christmas stories for kids down and passed it around, each kid that was old enough to read read one page, then passed it to the kid next to him/her. We kept doing that untill the story was over. Then, we got to open our present from gam!!! Gam always gives us 1 present on Christmas eve, and give us stockings on Christmas day. We all knew what the present was going to be, because it is the same thing every year... Jammies!!! This year we got pink plaid bottoms, with a bright blue bow around the waist, and a pink tanktop, with little white stars on it, a pink hoody, and a pair of green socks, with bit white polkadot \s on them. That is what the older girls got, the younger girls got blue polkadot fuzzy bottoms a pink and white shirt, a brown hoody, and purple socks. The boys got grey and red plaid pant a white mussle shirt, a hoodie of some colour and socks of some colour. Then the babies got jammies too.
On Christmas eve, we did nothing, except for we went to the Christmas eve service at Gams church.
Then on christmas day, gam did a big turkey dinner, and we opened our stockings, and our presents from the cousins, and gave our presents to the cousins. Baylie gave me a little pair of earings that she made, they are really pretty. (her grandpa had a jewelery store, so she learned how to make earings a year or 2 ago, she has given me a couple pairs)
Then on boxingday, we went skiing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then on saturday, we went to a kelowna rockets hockey game!!
Then on sunday we skipped church, because the roads were too bad, I'm sure alot of people skipped church that day!!! we did church at home. And we had uncle Johny and auntie Katherin and their girls, and uncle brent and auntie nancy and their kids over for supper.
Then on monday, we went home.
Oh, and it wa really funny because dad couldn't get the van up gams hill, so we had to walk up almost every time!!!!

Dec. 22, 2008 Christmas!!!!
Tomorrow we are going to Gams house for... CHRISTMAS!!!! We are going to celebrate Christmas eve on Tuesday, because my cousin, Baylie, has a Christmas party with her other grandparents an the real Christmas eve. But we are celebrating Christmas day on Christams day.
Gam has a special tradition, she gets us jammies every year for Christmas. I wonder what they will look like this year...
Oh!! And, we also just had our "just us" christmas party, with just our family. I got a shelf and reading lamps, and my parents are gonna paint my room. It will be COOL!!
Peyton and Sloan are going to go to Annie, live theater in Feb, but that is their present. Charter got a little building set, mollen got a mini baking set and Gage got a little push toy, its like one of those little lawn mowers that pop up little balls, but it is wooden, and it has little sticks that go all the way through and come out when you push it, then come out the other side back and forth. He LOVES it, he knew exactly how to play with it when we gave it to him.

Aug. 7, 2008 Home from Kelowna
Well, we've been home for a while, I was just to lazy to write about it :-)
Anyways, we had soooooo much fun!! We went on uncle B's boat, and went tubing! We went floating down the canal in Penticton, AND we went to city park!!! We also played music with granny, gramps, and... GAMPIE!!! (who decided to take up the madolin when I took mine to their house. He's acctually getting pretty good on that thing :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBN1Sj0Oq_A See for yourself!
Emma LOVED me, she followed me around every where saying "Taiyo, Taiyo, you siwee (silly)! Taiyo, Taiyo, wait for me!! Taiyo, Taiyo..." (she is 2 and a half) When I fell of the tube when we were tubing, my dad said she was looking over the side of the boat looking very concerned about "Taiyo" :-) Then When I came back onto the boat she told me that I was siwee and wanted to snuggle on my lap.
Well, everyone else want the computer, so I better go!

Jul. 6, 2008 home from fiddle camp!
Well, we are home!! We had soooo much fun!! I learned a whole bunch of new songs, like Val's dream (violin 1 & 2), Mississippi Cajun, Snow deer two step, The happy wanderer, Buckskin reel... I sort of learned ( meaning I still need ALOT of practice) Butter milk marry, Masons apron, Rubber boots, Mrs. durkin... And there might be a couple others I forgot ;)
Any way, now I'm gonna post some pics!!

Ok, the 1st one is me sitting on top of Kathleen and Natawna during trick fiddling, the 2nd is granny and gramps playing some song that I don't remember the name of, then one of me walking back to auntie Sharon's from a little out door pool that we went to during some of our breaks, the 4th is one of all of us sitting out side in auntie sharons yard, then one of me getting my awards at the end of camp, then one of auntie trudy showing us a scrap book about great great Grandma Carrie. (gg grandma carrie was acctually born on the estate of Alexander Graham Bell, and was named after his wife's cousin, Caroline mcurdy) Then the 7th is of auntie Sharon, (she cooked all our meals) then last, is a picture of Erin, teaching us fiddle.

Jun. 25, 2008 Fiddle Camp!
In one week we are going to FIDDLE CAMP!!!!!! Fiddle Camp is sooooooo much fun!! But the best part (appart from the fiddling!!) is that, all the people there are either cousins, brothers, sisters, or second cousins!! (or grannies or grampsies, or aunties or uncles, or great aunts, great uncles, ect, ect, ect!!!! :) So we are related to everyone!!!!! We do most of our fiddle practice at auntie sharons house, auntie Sharon also cooks all our meals, and she is a really good cook!!!!! Last year, and the year before, we played at a little restaurant in north battleford (that is where auntie sharon lives) and at a little gazebo.

Jun. 2, 2008 ~All about our trip!
On Friday we left for GP. We stopped at the Jespersens for one night on the way and saw all the goats, (carrie, they are adorable!!!!!) horses,(moose was my favourite!!!!) and everything else they have there!!! We also cought a mole, and it was gross!!!! :)
Then, we went to the pletts. We got there, and within minuts, we were out side playing in the bush and having fun. Then, of course, its the whole reason we went, we went to the homeschool convention and played fiddles. When we were done, we went to Shelly and Jon's house, then went back to the pletts. On Saturday, we kinda just hung around all morning while our dads went golfing. Then in the afternoon, we went to muskoseepi park, we met the hieberts there for pizza there. On Saturday we also went to "Battle of the bands" because Nicolas was in it. His band won.
On Sunday we went to the Fehlers for lunch and played all afternoon. Then on our way home, we saw two MASSIVE GRIZZLY BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were sooooo cool. One of them was way bigger than the other, so daddy thinks that maybe it was a sow and her cub. But anyway, it was cool!!!! I've seen black bears before, but never a grizzly!!!! Well, I think I might have saw a grizzly once in the zoo, but thats not as cool as in the wild!!! They were soo close to the road too. It was like 2 minuts away from where my dad saw grizzlys a differant time, when my dad saw them before, they were actually ON the road!!!
g2g, bye!! ~cairo~ |

Feb. 25, 2008 Shelly and Jon's wedding
Well, we are home from the wedding and it was SOOOOOOOO much fun! The dresses that shelly's mom bought us did fit. They were really pretty. Also there were 2 people at the church before the wedding to do me, sloan, peyton and mollen's hair. We walked down the aisle , and then we put our fiddles on a little table and then we sat down on little chairs in front of the front pew.
My mom just came down and handed me my little prince. He is sooo cute, and sooo good.

Aug. 4, 2007 Trip to BC part 2
The day after we got home to Granny's we went to Thetis Lake. It was quite a nice beach. Me and Granny swam across the lake and back because i needed to train for the triathlon, i had sort of taken a break while we were on holidays. It was pretty hard & i'm sure it was more than i have to do for the triathlon, but it was fun to see if i could do it! Granny & Gramps brought their water trampoline for us to play on & every time we'd stop playing on it to have a snack or something, all the kids at the beach would take over & we'd have to sort of steal it to get it back. Then, before we left, Gramps bought me some french fries! mmmmm! When we got home, dad had to leave for his fishing trip, which wasn't just a fishing trip, it was all his other business trips that he had to do in July. After that, he was gone for almost the rest of the holiday.
While we were in Victoria, Granny & Gramps figured out what 2 of our favourite meals were & then they made them each 3 times! One of them was Gramp's specialty, tacos & the other one was Granny's yummy chicken.
On my mom's birthday, Granny & Gramps took us to White Spot for lunch. All 5 kids ordered hamburger pirate packs, but i couldn't believe it, almost none of the kids liked their burgers!! At least i did. After that, we went to the Spit. It's a spit of land with the ocean on one side & a lagoon on the other. There were tons of crabs & little life like that. We were looking for sand dollars but we couldn't find any. Granny said that the last time she was there, she saw a whole bunch of them.
It's time for bed. I guess i'm gonna have to make a part three of our trip! & i'm only a week and a half into our trip!

Well, we are finally home! We had so much fun, but for me its almost as fun to get home. We got to Victoria on Saturday & we actually made it all in one day, so it was a lot of traveling. On Monday, we went to Tofino & we stopped at Coombs market on the way. It's this little marketplace with a sod roof & it has goats up on the roof! My mom said that when we were at Coombs, she would buy each of us a little present & my grampa also gave each of us a little bit of money to spend. My mom's present to me was little ladybug lanterns that plug in and light up, and with my money from my gramps I got a little oriental looking journal. When my mom was little she went to coombs she also got an oriental journal alot like mine. I thought that was pretty cool. While we were in Tofino, we stayed at a little hostel. It was right close by long beach & it had the botanical gardens in the back yard. Long Beach honestly looks like pictures of Hawaii. It's just beautiful. The second day of being in Tofino, we went to Hot Springs Cove. You can't get into the hot springs with a vehicle, so we had to take a boat. Our boat's name was the "Hootla Kootla" & it wasn't very big. It was just a little motor boat. While we were on it, we saw: humpback whales ~ seeing whales was my dream, so i'm really glad we got to see them, but it was really special because there was a mother and a baby whale together! We didn't get to see as much of the baby whale, but the mother whale sure wasn't shy! We also saw harbour porpoises, sea otters and stellar sea lions.
Hot springs cove was really beautiful, but the hot springs weren't as much fun as they would have been if it would have been a cooler day. i think it was 35 degrees!! The hot springs were too hot to go in, so we went in where the hot springs and the ocean met. It was really cool because when a wave from the ocean came in, it would be freezing cold, but then as it went out, it would become hotter and hotter from the hot springs. At the hot springs, they had a little board walk trail right from the hot springs to the dock where we would start our journey homeward, so there wasn't any way to get lost in the big forrest. The forrest was 2000 years old and they said that some of the trees were up to 800 years old! One the way back to Tofino on the boat, we saw even more whales... well, we didn't really see more whales, it was the same two whales we saw the first time & they were still playing around not far from where we saw them the first time. My favourite veiw was when one flung his tail in the air! The whale's tail was probably about the size of the boat we were on.
On our way home to Granny's we stopped in Ucluelet and hiked the Wild Pacific Trail. From the trail, we could see the ocean, but we weren't expecting to see MORE WHALES on our hike! So that means we saw quite a few humpback whales!
When we finally got back to Granny's house, i think it was 35 degrees again! Too hot for us to really want to do anything, but we played in the sprinkler.
Tune in tomorrow for the rest of our trip!!

Jun. 21, 2007 June 21, fiddle camp/victoria
Well, its June 21 and that means only 10 days untill fiddle camp!!! Its gonna be soo much fun, I can't wait. On the first day (july 1) we will arive in northbattleford, at my moms antie's house and then go from there to an old farm were they are going to be having the 'Huckleberry Fin' play, we are going to play background music before the play, when all the people are walking in and buying pies and soup and stuff like that. After the play we will go back to one of my great antie's or uncles to sleep, even though we will actually have fiddle camp at auntie sharons. If fiddle camp is alot like last year we will do a bit of preforming.( the play is not really preforming, more just back ground music:)
After fiddle camp we are going to victoria! Thats going to be really fun. We are staying for three weeks, and while we are there we are there we are going to a hot springs, tofino and a whole bunch of other things.
Before we go I want to make a list of animals to see on the trip. here are some of my ideas..
whale, jelly fish, crab, heron, bear, swans, clam, seel, sea lion, goats on the roof of some place:) and lots of other things land or sea:)

Well, it's Wednessday. Its been about 2 weeks since my last post. (Wow time flies:) Since then soo much has happened. I don't know were to begin. Well last time I wrote we were going to the beach. Well, I stayed in the sun too long, got completely burnt, and punished myself by getting sunstroke, ( as if getting my burn wasn't bad enough).
Then we went to kelowna. I tried not to stay in the sun too much and succeded in not getting reburnt. We were also in Kelowna for mothers day so we went swimming. They had a mothers day contest at the pool where you could win a present for your mom me and my two sisters went int he contest, so did three of our cousins, my 6 year old sister was partners with my 4 year old cousin, my 8 year old sister was partners with my 9 year old cousin and I was partners with my 7 year old cousin Ethan. So really it did not matter who won because both moms would get a mothers day gift. Me and Ethan won though.
Now for my school update. I am done my math for the year and the end of spelling is close behind only reveiw left. I can't wait to be done school. Its going to be so wierd to not have to do school.
This July we are planning to make a long trip. Close to a month!!! First we will go to fiddle camp.(from July 2nd to 5th) Then we'll come home for one night then go to granny and gramps's house in victoria. Thats when the trip gets long, because we might stay for almost three weeks!!!!! I can't wait untill July!
