Have you ever...?

Posted in Funny Stories

Have you ever gone somewhere...say to a baby shower...stayed two hours...come home, pull off your shoes and THEN notice you have on two different KINDS of shoes???  Not colors...both were black clogs but one was smooth leather and the other was textured leather.  One had white stitching around sole the other had black; the heels were of different heights also!!!  The only thing these two shoes had in common were the fact that they were black and were leather clogs!!!  How embarrassing!!!  I am just so glad I did not realize it until I got home or I would died of embarrassment.  Fortunately, I sat in the back of the room against a wall so probably both feet were not exposed - I can only hope.  Anyway, hope your Sunday was better than mine!

I am still around but can be found more at www.cakeandcam.blogspot.com  this is the website that I post all of my pictures and stories as it tends to be a bit easier to tinker with.  Come by and visit me and let me know you stopped by with a comment.  BTW I finally changed my Christmas template...yeah me!

The "Southern" Ten Commandments

Posted in Funny Stories

A friend sent this to me….We need a whole Bible Translation like this.

Some folks have trouble with all those 'shalls' and 'shall nots' in the Ten Commandments.

Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms.

The Southern Ten Commandments
( actually posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in  Harlan ,  Ky. )

(1) Just one God
(2) Honor yer Ma & Pa
(3) No tellin' tales or gossipin'
(4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'
(5) Put nothin' before God
(6) No foolin' around with another feller's gal
(7) No killin'
(8) Watch yer mouth
(9) Don't take what ain't yers
(10) Don't be hankerin ' for yer buddy's stuff

Now that's kinda plain an' simple, don't ya think?  Y'all have a nice day

Hilarious Mother's Day Story

Posted in Funny Stories

Thank goodness this did not actually happen to me, but I can certainly imagine if someone had thought of it...
So, at the time of this story we had this great 10-year old cat named all day long on this mat in our bathroom.Jack. Jack was a great cat, and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap

Well, we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done.old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick.  LOVES it! He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally have the older one and and the baby loaded in the car, and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere, and I finally round the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right--their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind.

And the only question really to ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cats behind -- or the hundredth.
And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever, because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's butt.
