Merry Christmas To You All!

The purpose of this post is to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas!  You all have made such a lovely difference in my life this year.  When I look back, it was my friends here that helped me through life-changing situations and I have enjoyed the writing, feedback and praying that has been exchanged back and forth.  The fact that we all homeschool automatically bonds us so we just go from there.  No explaining our lives, just sharing our experiences.  What a blessing!  Each one of you has something to offer others and it shows when you write.  Your comments have encouraged me to continue writing and work harder to improve my skills.  And it's just been so incredibly fun!  Thank you for taking part of this blog and sharing yourselves with me.  Without you, this would just be a sad little blog, just me and my computer.  Sniff.

Enjoy your celebration of Christmas.  Christ our Saviour is born.  Aren't we so thankful!!  God bless you all!

Your friend, Kate

MRE means 'Meal Ready to Eat'. They are military issue food that comes in a brown thick, plastic bag and has everything for a meal. You add water to a chemical packet that generates heat (b/c you have no power to cook after a bad storm or out on the battlefield) and stick that inside the brown box that each entree comes in and voila' ! Dinner! They have about 3000 calories each, literally, and have a shelf life of 3-4 years. Yummy- beef from 2003!! If you've seen any pictures of Fla, Louisiana or Miss. after the hurricanes and saw lines of cars or people waiting, it was for one of four things: Gas, water, ice and MRE's. You learn something new everyday :)

What a nice post. And so true. I know I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the blogs since I got on in Oct. Such an encouragement and blessing.

Have a great day :)

A very happy Christmas to you as well, my dear blogging friend! I feel exactly the same as you; when I first began my blog, I thought it would only ever be just me and my sad little computer. Thankfully this community is a welcoming one, and you have been more welcoming to me than most. I hope your Christmas and New Year are blessed a thousand-fold, and I look forward to exchanging thoughts, confidences, and laughs with all of my blogging friends in the New Year.

Happy Christmas Blessings upon you and your family at this most joyous of seasons!!

I second that emotion! Discovering HSB just as I set out on homeschooling has been such a gift. I love visiting this blog and others. Incredible isn't it, how it's possible to form an affection for people we've never met in person? It's wonderful to receive encouragement from others who are on the same journey.
Wishing you a blessed Christmas, Clare

Kate, I absolutely agree! The encouragement I receive from people across the globe, like yourself, is phenomenal. It's staggering to reflect that I now consider I have as many friends from America & Canada as I do home in Australia.
