My Good Friday Miracle (However small but very much appreciated!)

Today is Good Friday, the day we remember our Lord Jesus dying on a cross for the sins of the world.  Because He loves us.  He took the pain for us.  We are not worthy.  Yet, still, He loves us.

Today, I received a very small but very important miracle.  I found my checkbook!!  Praise the Lord!  In my last post, I mentioned that I had lost my checkbook and thought I'd last seen in in the house.  Wrong!  I spent the week looking and looking, getting more and more depressed and discouraged.  Today, my dh sent me out to find a dress for Easter (bless him!)  I took our Prius and drove to a store in town.  Before I got out, I decided to check between and under the seats of the car, just in case.  Looked in the back on the floor, wasn't there.  Checked down the side of the passenger seat (where I usually sit as my dh drives the Prius more than I do.)  Bingo!  There it was!  I started crying and Praising God.  I couldn't believe how He lead me right to it.  Duh!  I've been praying all week, why am I so surprised when God answers my prayer?  Now, it gets funny ... I looked in my purse for my cell phone so I could call my dh at home and tell him the good news.  Uh, no cell phone.  O.k.  Must have left it at home.  So, I went shopping in the store and, of course, I had to share my good news with SOMEONE so I told the store clerk who was helping me.  Bless her heart, she did a good job of listening and being happy for me!  I left that store, got back in the car and there, on the seat of the car, was my cell phone!  I'm telling you, I'm hopeless!  So I called my dh and told him the good news about finding my check book.  Then I went to the grocery store.  After shopping, I went to check out and pulled out my newly-found check book.  Guess what ... no checks left, just deposit slips!  Sigh.  It's a good thing Jesus loves us - some days it's SO hard to love ourselves.

I see you must have "found" your way home okay after you were done shopping. :-) I'm glad you found your checkbook. I'm also glad you enjoyed the "Ponderisms" that I posted. I don't know who wrote them, though. They came to us in an email and they were too good to delete, so I thought that I'd just share them with everyone else. :-)

Praise God!

I know that we shouldn't be surprised when God answers our prayers or gives us answers to our questions, but we are! It's like........"Wow! You're really listening to lil ol' ME?" It's amazing proof of His love for us!

Have a very blessed Easter,

Sherry

LOL!! This sounds so much like me, it's funny! I do the same things. We have so much on our plates, it's hard to keep track and remember everything. I do a poor job of remembering and have to write everything down. I lose things all the time. Yes, God is good and I wouldn't know what to do without Him!!

I posted a comment on your March 27th posting about sharing your blog with others. I didn't realize it was an older post (I came there from a link from another blogger) and I wished you a Happy Easter. LOL Oh well. I'll wish you a blessed Resurrection day here on the right date! I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow!

God bless you ~ Julie

That's the funniest story EVER. OH MY GOODNESS. I had to laugh about the cell phone thing. Now that's something that I can relate to. Mine rings in the house and I can never find it.

I remember praying for a Christmas dress many years ago and receiving one 'out of the blue' (God). But I still just couldn't believe that God would care about something so small. Ya know what, HE DOES!

Apr. 10, 2007 - You have my vote too

I just popped over to the awards and gave your blog my vote. Like you, I wouldn't have had a clue how to nominate but can sure work out how to vote. It looks as if we can each vote only once per category. The whole thing is a lot of fun and you're right, it's an honour just to be nominated.
About your recent posts, I always like to think that a mind that loses things is not the sign of a hopeless person but a creative one who has more interesting things to think about than where they left each little thing. I'm pleased to hear about your Good Friday miracle. I was surprised by the title because I was going to write about a miracle of my own on Easter Sunday but ran out of time and space. I'll write about it next time or soon after, however.
I'm glad that letter arrived safely. We're all hugely enjoying the correspondence from our end too.

Were you wearing your new dress on Easter? It was very pretty. You looked so nice! I am glad you found the checkbook.

We planted the boys flowers in a pot to put on the front steps, but they were getting rained/hailed on so much that we had to move them under cover.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter! I so loved that you came to worship with us.

Have a great day!
